Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 91: It's Blizzard Season... isn't it?

I was up north last weekend. Usually the smaller lakes are froze over. Not this year. Up until a couple years ago it was very common for me and some family members to go ice fishing Thanksgiving weekend. The last five years or so there has been no ice whatsoever.

Doesn't this belong in the global warming thread:confused: ;)

That is just a weird statement to take in.

Agreed. But when I look at the CCHA standings and see:

11 Michigan

it leads me to believe such a statement could be reality. Lots of hockey to play though.

Yeah, its a weird year. I am on the other end of the spectrum waiting for the other shoe to drop and to settle back into mediocrity. Maybe when the minutemen win some games in january I will start to believe.

You were a Triangle? :)

LOL. Sorry, but the "new" Triangles still confuse me - they used to be as hardcore (and scuzzy) a frat as ever graced College Avenue before their national organization shut them down.

I'm a Triangle. :) We were as geeky (not Greeky) a frat as UMN had when I joined (maybe moreso than KHK - the EE frat). We were the largest pledge class that little chapter had had and we changed the frat overnight. More and better parties, more and better IM teams (still not very good, but better than they had been), worse grades :o . For those unfamiliar, Triangle is a "professional" fraternity of "Engineers, Architects and Scientists."

Morning Lodge.

I may be going home soon. Gut not feeling good this AM.:(

It's been a bizarre season. I give you as Exhibit A: With 2 HE wins on the season, your defending National Champions, Boston University, currently sitting in last place in Hockey East (below Providence and Merrimack).

:( Go home! You don't want to be getting sick!

Good morning. Ug, big bill to get the rear breaks fixed on the car. Erf. Even worse is the POS Hyundai loaner which sealed the deal for me, I will never buy a Hyundai.

The Irish themed bar I was at last night failed me. I went in and ordered a Guinness. The waitress says, "we're out". I would have walked out right then, but it was trivia night (and my team went on to win. $30 gift certificate to the bar). At least the shepherd's pie was yummy. As was the Newcastle, but it was not Guinness. :(

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 91: It's Blizzard Season... isn't it?

So Lodge, I need some serious advice.

As most of you know I've been pledging at a sorority for the past 8 weeks...
We're almost done (1-2 weeks left) but I don't know if I want to do it anymore.
The time commitment's been huge. I've missed >half of our home hockey games because of it(more than I missed last year at all when I wasn't even a student)
I never see my family anymore, it's a financial burden..

If I quit, 24 girls are going to despise me, and most of the Greek community will greatly dislike me...
No frat parties for me, no "sisterhood"...

What it would mean: I'd have an extra 10+ hrs/week, I'd be less stressed, I'd be able to be a true hockey fan again.

What do you guys think?

I think it's a no brainer, and now you can say "Sloe Gin was right." :p

Oh...I may or may not have a spare set of tickets to Final Five (odds are this set will be available). The only downside is that you'd have to sit next to me. Let me know if anyone's interested.

nope. Don't know of anyone either. You're screwed. :p

If Michigan finds themselves sitting at home that weekend, I'd be up for a trip to the Final Five.

welcome to the varsity of tournaments.

I am not pregnant

Mr. Les having "performance" issues again?
