Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 86: Noobs, Halloween, and Pumpkins, oh my!

Good morning Lodge.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 86: Noobs, Halloween, and Pumpkins, oh my!

Congrats to Gonzo - how's the commute?

Thanks!
Not too bad. I leave the house at 6:00 AM and make it to the mill ~45 minutes later. Let's just say that after looking over at the east bound lane of 94, I'm glad I'm in the west bound lane

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 86: Noobs, Halloween, and Pumpkins, oh my!

I will let my record with predictions speak for itself. :)
Speak for itself? Standing mute is no way to defend yourself. :D

For those of you keeping score at home, Mrs. g is a teacher. This morning a group of people entered her class. The principal, school administration, school board members and executives from a "large retailer". They surprised Mrs. g with a large box of school supplies for her classroom that included a printer, digital camera and essential classroom materials worth more than $1,000 per gift. Apparently she was one of 3500 teachers from across the coutry that was nominated then recognized for her efforts.

Cripes, I hope they left her with the receipt. I will cash it in and put the money down on the Gophers humiliating ohio state this weekend. :p

So this schoolmarm with all the loot, if she's so dang smart how come she married you? Well? Yeah, I didn't think you'd have an answer for that one. I've read some of your posts and it's apparent from them that she hasn't learned you nothing.

With an eye toward beginning the most rudimentary educational process, here's a math lesson for you courtesy of the Denver Broncos. ONE. TWO. THREE. FOUR. FIVE. SIX. BYE.....;)

Gonzo - I don't work at Abbott Northwestern, but one of my coworkers has a part-time job there and has told me they hire lots of new grads and many of them are good-looking.

Incidentally, I just checked their job site and they have a dayshift opening in their heme department. I doubt I'll apply for it though - I have something else in the works...

That adult film star career is finally taking shape?

That adult film star career is finally taking shape?
That'd be more of a hobby than a career.

As for the opportunity, it's a paid internship program that trains people to be high level HR managers - the downsides are that it takes two years, and I'd have to sign an agreement stating I'm willing to relocate if necessary. The upshot is the job I'd get at the end of the program would pay more than my current job does, and if I had to relocate, they'd pay my relocation expenses. I'd also be done with nightshift the moment the internship starts.

When they were giving out heads, you thought they said beds, and you said "I'd like something soft"

When they were giving out brains, you thought they said grains, and you said "Make mine oatmeal"

When they were giving out noses, you thought they said roses, and you said "Give me a big red one"

When they were giving out heads, you thought they said sheds, and you said "I'd like a nice big wooden one"

When they were giving out looks, you thought they said books, and you said "Give me something funny"

When they were giving out brains, you thought they said canes, and you said "I won't need one of those"

When they were giving out noses, you thought they said hoses, and you said "I don't mind if mine drips a little bit"

When they were giving out faces, you thought they said cases, and you said "I'd like one made of leather"

When they were giving out heads, you thought they said breads, and you said "I'd like mine nice and doughy"

:)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 86: Noobs, Halloween, and Pumpkins, oh my!

since I've never flown anywhere close to either location, I guess that makes sense. Except the P. Canada all begins with C...but then the US begins with K...this is the *t they should have taught us at UND!

I was wondering that too.

Morning, Lodge. Just about over my cold... except I gave it to my parents. :o

BPH has a cold.

Gonzo was released from one job, but picked up by the same company at another location.

SFIS is having surgery (see thread in the Cafe)

Ralph is being Ralph :p and is close to 100,000 (see thread in the Cafe)

'diva is wrapping up her job

MNS' dad is having some heart trouble, but appears to be treatable (and is at a hospital with hot nurses)

The Commie is looking at an internship that would allow him to leave his
vampire lifestyle (note, he does not sparkle)

Brent sliced open his hand yesterday and enjoyed the weekend with Sloe and
Papa Sloe watching the Gophs and Sioux battle it out

lil' les is enjoying hockey again! :)

Bob ran a marathon and got a more-than respectable time

Scarlet was in San Diego, but is now back. BU2K forgot to text her updates from the BU-UMass game (which she probably wouldn't have wanted anyway since BU lost).

There was some vague discussion about abbreviations of the US and Alaska abbreviations in aviation terms

A few peeps took the "Don't Stop Believing" quiz on sporcle

A brief discussion on John Deere and International Harvester culminating with the post of the video for "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy"

Hammer got an electric skillet

Mrs. gmann got a big reward of school supplies for being an awesome teacher

GLM didn't get the job and Ralph forgot who he was, but he's still awesome thanks to his nipples

Well, My kid's girlfriend would definitely be considered good looking. Like I said in my rep, I never look at my kids friends as anything but a young person my kid hangs out with.
I have been complimented more than once on my lack of "creepiness for an old guy" either directly or via one of the kids.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 86: Noobs, Halloween, and Pumpkins, oh my!

I just made myself a grilled cheese sandwich. Haven't had one in a while. It was yummy.

Off line to mookie -- prior to the game tonight they're having a ceremony down in the FOH lounge, re-dedicating it in Meryl's honor. If you're there early enough, you might want to stop down. You too, ewe!. It should take place between 5:45 and 6:00pm.
