Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 86: Noobs, Halloween, and Pumpkins, oh my!

I got bored and decided to do something with the potatoes, from the garden, that my mom gave me a while back, since I don't know how much longer they will be good. So I threw them in the oven and decided to make twice baked potatoes. I let them bake for about 2 hours and sauteed up some onion, garlic, butter, bacon and spices. Then I just mixed the potato guts, the sauteed stuff, sour cream and some shreaded cheese all together and stuffed the skins. I put them in the fridge like that and now when I want to eat them I will just bake them for the second time. Hoping they are tasty...

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 86: Noobs, Halloween, and Pumpkins, oh my!

So two weeks ago, going to/from Canada, I got the 3rd degree from both of the border patrol officers working at customs. Two weeks ago, it took almost 30 minutes to get back into the US because the International Bridge was backed up because of the US border patrol. They were asking lots of questions and looking in everyone's trunk. Usually I get asked where I live and other random things like that.

Tonight going TO Canada, I presented my license to the Canadian border patrol officer. He asked where I was going, swiped my license, and told me to have a good night. That was it. Going back into the US I handed the officer my license, got asked what I was doing as he swiped my license, and told me to have a good night. The whole thing took seven minutes, and that includes waiting in line for the few cars that were ahead of me.
Well, two weeks ago a major terror plot was uncovered and so it makes sense that the border patrol was at a heightened state of alert. This week, meh, they already let in thirty or forty others whose last names end in "o," so what's one more?

I don't live like an 80-year-old and wait to go to bed until at least it's dark out. :p

I don't jockey a forklift in a boiling hot warehouse with a *khead boss. I wake up early, get my *t done, and go to bed at a reasonable time. Like right now. Peace, homey. ;)

Well, you have me on the Dhead Boss part. But I get my * done too. Only it's at a time more convenient for me and my way of life. :p :D

To answer the question you had on Friday night...

Fairbanks: PAFA
Anchorage: PANC

Yes, I looked it up...we never cleared anyone to either in any class I took.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 86: Noobs, Halloween, and Pumpkins, oh my!

Good morning RFAlph!

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!! terrible tuesday is here.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 86: Noobs, Halloween, and Pumpkins, oh my!

Morning Lodge

Apparently my dad's in the hospital...90% blockage of his right main artery. Had an angiogram and apparently everything went fine and he will be staying overnight. Off to the hospital...:(

20 bucks says he goes straight from the hospital to work tomorrow...:p:o

Thanks everyone. He'll be home tomorrow. He blames it on the Saturday Sioux/Gopher game. :D

He had pain in his left arm at work, tells the receptionist to let a coworker know that he can't give him a ride home*...and drives himself to the emergency room. His boss' wife (also good family friends) was absolutely furious with him that he drove himself (For reference TC people...he works around The Local and is at Abbot Northwestern). Abbot's new heart wing is really nice. My brothers and I found it funny that for being one of the top heart hospitals in the country the only food choice there after the cafeteria closes is...McDonald's.

As for work. He probably won't go back tomorrow. But, he will probably have my mom run downtown to his office to get work for him to do and work from home and be back Wednesday. He'll go crazy if he's stuck at home with nothing to do all day.

*This coworker is also a good friend of the family and he lives fairly close to us. He called my mom on her phone and got the news that all was well. Then calls our home phone and says "Tell your dad thanks for the ride...I have to walk home now." Then let my brother know he knew he was ok.:D

Sorry to hear that MNS

If it's any comfort, my oldest kids live in girlfriend is an ICU nurse in the cardiac unit at ANW. She's excellent and speaks highly of her ward and colleagues.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 86: Noobs, Halloween, and Pumpkins, oh my!

I've heard ANW has a lot of hot chicks working there.

since I've never flown anywhere close to either location, I guess that makes sense. Except the P. Canada all begins with C...but then the US begins with K...this is the *t they should have taught us at UND!

Mornin' Lodge.
I've heard ANW has a lot of hot chicks working there.
Maybe I'll go there and visit some sick people, just out of the kindness of my heart, and try to cheer them up. Possibly play some cribbage with some senior citizens or make balloon animals for sick children.
