Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 85: Pants or no Pants?

I take off from OKC and Denver is reporting light winds out of the north with good visibility and a temperature of 65 degrees. I land and it's overcast at 900 feet, limited visibility with light snow and a temperature of 28 degrees. FML

It's cold and windy - and white stuff is falling.

I can't believe it felt like summer 'til the last 3 days of September, and now we're not even halfway through October and it's snowing.

Nearly an inch of snow on the ground in 320land.

Good morning - watching the lad scrape car windows this morning was funnier than h-ell. "No son, you're on your own." :D He's going to freeze his nards off in Alex today at the CC meet.

CC to gmann - If you end up working the meet he's a JV runner for STA. Their varsity is very good and should contend for the meet title. Have fun. :D

Got it.

When I was asked to assist I was thinking it would be a great way to spend a day outside soaking up a beautiful fall afternoon. F an A. 24 degrees. A bitter wind. Wind chill of 11 degrees and snow on the ground.

BSU is 1-0.

L'il is still sleeping! Even if he is still losing baby teeth and hasn't started some of the joyful things of adolecence he has got the circadian clock thing down pat- flipped to sleep all day, stay awake all night.

I know the grass is always greener and all that, but after a while in the tropics, I can't wait to get back where I can have cold weather in October. :o

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 85: Pants or no Pants?

It's early October.
The leaves are still green (and most of the trees still have lots of leaves).

It's 25 degrees out, and there's snow on the ground.

Something ain't right about this.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 85: Pants or no Pants?

An entertaining game last night as Denver overcame two goal deficits on two occasions [3-1; 4-2] and scored three third period goals to beat Vermont 5-4. Both teams showed some opening night weaknesses as well as strengths in their play. I didn't realize Vermont returned five defensemen who played on the team's Frozen Four squad last season. Vermont was the better team through the first thirty five minutes of the game with Denver outplaying the Cats over the final twenty five minutes. Aspects of both teams impressed me and I'm looking forward to this evening's game. I'm glad to see both teams starting their seasons with a strong non-conference opponent rather than beginning the season by playing a series at home against Who Are U.

I'll offer one opinion about Vermont. With a team able to score four goals on the road in its season opener and a squad which has six experienced defensemen on the bluline, Vermont looks as though it should be a decent team again this year. The Cats carried much of the play early in the game and had success generating scoring opportunities.

I hope you got to see your favorite team in action last night. A snowy day here in my neighborhood so it's perfect hockey weather, but not so much for the Rockies-Phillies game which is still on tap for tonight. Brrrrr. :D
