Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 85: Pants or no Pants?

your challenge has been accepted. I choose pistols. :D

Nice

I offer my back yard as a neutral spot for this pistol duel. I will also referee.

Choose your seconds gentlemen.

Will this be a public duel?

Also: better move your chickens, Sloe Gin might mistake one of them for REDrocket. ;)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 85: Pants or no Pants?

So as a really crappy hockey player, I have always used a cheap wooden stick, but I can get a decent one-piece Bauer for about $45 including shipping, so I think I'll join the 21st century.:o Hockey Giant.

I have been asked to skate in Fat Boys League aka old timers this winter. not sure if I am going to join or not. I have not been on my skates in over two years and come to think of it my hockey bag has not been opened in over 2 years. I don't even own a stick. If I decide to skate I cannot wait to see what my gear smells like.............

A public duel is considered poor form. The Duel should occur at sunrise. The contestants and their seconds will agree on the number of paces the duelists will walk before firing. It should also be clear whether the duel is for first blood, or death.

The chickens will take their chances.
They're only chickens

Sounds like you and BPH are offering to be the Seconds.

From Wiki Each party would name a trusted representative (a second) who would, between them, determine a suitable "field of honour." It was also the duty of each party's second to check that the weapons were equal and that the duel was fair. In the 16th and early 17th centuries, it was normal practice for the seconds as well as the principals to fight each other. Later the seconds' role became more pacific, to make sure the rules were followed and to try to achieve reconciliation, but as late as 1777 the Irish code still allowed the seconds an option to exchange shots.

That was then, this is now. Pay Per View.

Always choose a second with an Uzi and an itchy trigger finger (or barring that, one who will arrive early like Doc Holiday.)

The chickens will take their chances.

Sounds like barbecue to follow the duel, especially if somebody goes the Uzi route.
