Morning Lodge

This late sunrise/early sunset is already starting to get to me. I can hardly wait for the next solstice. :(

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 83: Hot Toddies and Cool Weather

Are you saying that there's only one per day? You have close to five times the post count of me, and you're saying that there's only one post-whore post for a day? I declare shenanigans.

The other posts are just post-whorish, but have some value. Approximately 1/20 of a cent, IIRC. ;)

Good Morning Lodge

The scabs on my face are getting very itchy as they heal, and I am being very careful not to rip any part of them off, in an attempt to get my face back to normal ASAP.

I think that's where the boy took me the other day. It was yummy. It was equally yummy as breakfast the following day.

Is it Friday yet? Or better, Saturday? Looking forward to homecoming. Football is much more fun when you get to enter the Big House through the tunnel and watch the game from the field.
I prefer my football while laying on a couch in front of 3 TVs with a drink in hand and snacks on the coffee table. Football live is blahh, unless it is the Minnesota BrettFarves, I'm very tempted to go to one of their games this year.

Or you could have just gone to Sal's in Tecumseh tonight. Got Dinner and lunch for tomorrow there. :D
Sure, if I wanted to wait 45 minutes for a meal there. I swear everytime I go in that place during lunch I get my food with about 10-15 minutes to spare. Yeah, I walk in the door about 12:05, I'd like my food put in front of me sometime before 12:45, especially when I have to be back at the office at 1.

If I'm getting a lasagna, I'm going to Basil Boys, not Sal's. If you go to BB, stay away from the strombolis. I got food poisoning off of one of them.

Good morning, I have an interview today...woot.

Morning Lodge.

Kid's staying home sick with a cold today. He played the last 3 on 3 game of the summer last night and they got slaughtered. Other team was like a select team of top flight peewee A players against his group of squirt Cs and girls B players.

Is it run by Showcase? Always seemed to be the MO of certain teams in Showcase back when the rat played. Lets load up a summer team with A players, play at the B level, and when the championship! Whoo-whooo....I'm not accusing anyone but you guys rock Johnson Area.

Why would you want that? :p

Muy bien!
Hearing aids are amazing devices. My daughter is on her second set, she's 13 now and got her first pair at age 7. They have been wonderful for her and I'm sure little g will do very well with them! I would suggest always keeping extra batteries with you (plus some at school) as well as a toothpick to clean out wax from her ear molds.

Thanks. Little g has moderate to severe loss in his right ear. Left ear is fine. He is three years old and more times than not he doesn't like to wear it. Given that the hearing aid is NOT a cheap device we really have to monitor him so it does not get lost.

We carry extra batteries and are becoming experts on keeping it clean. :)

Good luck!

No, not this time. Jr. played Showcase back in mite days. This is a new rink, just getting started in 3 on 3. I've been trying to help them out with engineering issues (soft ice). Due to late start they only had 4 teams in peewee and they were half composed of subs most of the time. Arena manager said after the game "I didn't even bring the trophy out because it's not really their team." Next summer he just wants to make the peewee and bantam as drop-in leagues - sticks in the middle and pick teams for each game.

I remember a mite Showcase game where we were getting creamed and another dad on the bench with me was getting all upset and said "this is embarrassing!" I said, "yeah, embarrassing for them - they have no business at intermediate mites, it's not helping their kids get better." By the way, the dad on the ice at the time was a former NHLer we've discussed before and he was great with the kids in that game "OK boys, keep skating, let's get a shot on goal - good shot, now let's get a goal." And eventually they did get one so we were not shut out.:)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 83: Hot Toddies and Cool Weather

Both my wife and I have a shorter than usual workday on tap as we're hosting a dinner this evening for a church service group for which she serves as president. Sixteen people gathering this evening for brisket with lots of trimmings.

A good hot meal will be a nice touch as the weather today again has distanced itself from summer and is giving an introduction to fall and winter. Temps are only in the mid 40s with highs not forecast to reach 50 today. The local weather guessers have said there may be a light dusting of snow on lawns when Denver awakens tomorrow. So brisket sounds pretty good right about now. :)

I can see why you don't like the Gophers, but a Twins cap?

gmann - don't invite Wally to the ttp after the Twins win the Series.

:D

He wouldn't put a Gophers hat on him anyway:D , I was looking for a BSU hat. Besides its a baseball hat, screw MLB.
