The VMAs are on. Just opened with an awesome Michael Jackson tribute, and Janet was part of it. It was really well done. I have since changed the channel.

did she flash a nip?

Actually she was overly covered up. She performed "Scream" which was that duet she recorded with him a while back. They digitally removed her from the video and she did her part of it live with the video with Michael in it behind her. It was really cool.

Brent: Perhaps. We'll work out logistics later - might end up being that I just have to buy a few 6ers.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 83: Hot Toddies and Cool Weather

i just got back from le target and from a furniture store in g-town (they were selling affordable normal stuff there)... nice day out but i'm perfectly happy to get back home.

They sell affordable stuff in Georgetown? Who would have thought that? ;)

i know, its like a dirty trick or something :p

I'm incredibly nonchalant for somebody who is about to start his real adult-person job. While I've got the usual jitters about waking up for the alarm clock I'm otherwise kind of ambivalent and at ease. Too much "I've done this before, what's the big deal" going on in my head.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 83: Hot Toddies and Cool Weather

I'll NEVER wake up at 5am to catch up on dishes and laundry.

...except for maybe when I'm a teacher and I have kids. Ew. Maybe I can teach night school.
It's either dishes and laundry or running. Tuesday-Thursday and Saturdays, it's running.

0-32. Or maybe not - we weren't THAT bad today.
The Lions will find a way to f-ck that up; they always do.

evening, Lodge. Another day is done, thank Parise.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 83: Hot Toddies and Cool Weather

sounds delightful.

Morning/afternoon Lodge. Had to deal with fog this morning in Denver, so we were delayed nearly 3 hours. still made it in time to catch my Vikings.
Yup. Overjoyed. For the bachelorette party, she wants table service and for us all to rent rooms at a hotel downtown. I am pretty sure that that's impossible for me financially (and for at least two, if not more, of the bridesmaids). Plus she's starting to do some other things that may warrant a hammernudge (not quite hammerpunch level).

-you don't use the tickets for patriots day?!?!

-wouldn't they say they're from "sumvul"

-ring doesn't mean anything. i don't wear one (bothers me when i golf) on my finger. i can't be the only one.
My dad doesn't wear one either. He washes his hands too often after seeing patients and doesn't like to wear it golfing either.

Back from another busy day. Was up early to rent a zipcar (Toyota Tacoma pick-up) to help a friend move a dresser from her sister's place to her apartment, then hopped on the commuter rail up to Lowell for a date afternoon/evening with tcbg. Now home and getting ready for tomorrow (Mondays suck).

Rent a room and just have everyone sleep in the one room. I'm not sure how much table service is, but every bachelor/ette party I've attended/seen has all been bar hopping and I've/they seemed to had/have a blast.

Bachelor/bachelorette parties are about drinking with friends and having fun (and maybe seeing a stripper or 5 :D).

The bride makes twice my salary (and I earn more than some of the bridesmaids). She would like several rooms for the evening at a nice hotel (we're talking 300$/night/room easily). Table service runs about 150-200$ per bottle of booze here. So, if everyone drinks the same booze it's economical, but if not... :( I'm not saying we shouldn't go out and have a good time, but some of us just aren't made of money.

Edit -- also, with this group, it might be best to have a couple rooms. This is the wedding I posted about in TRP awhile back with the ... adventurous bridal party (and bride! )

I thought bachelor/bachelorette parties were given by the bridal party members, and not dictated by the groom/bride. Huh.

I'd just tell her she'll like what she gets and shut up about it :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 83: Hot Toddies and Cool Weather

Ughhhh.

Getting sick, court in the AM 2 hours upstate to try getting a reduction on a speeding ticket I got back in February (original court date was in June, I was on the great lakes, wasn't going to work real well), school project has me stressing hardcore, anddddd it's going to be a very. very. very. long week.

Less than 120 hours until I conquer stress with tasty beverages... less than 120 hours...

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 83: Hot Toddies and Cool Weather

checking in. I've decided this school project is really a thesis on the boat I was on this summer. I'm about a third of the way through just the questions I have to answer, and am on page 10, over 6000 words now. I also have a 5 page paper on the Cargo system on board, and tracings of ~150 miles of rivers to do, upbound AND downbound. All of this by Tuesday. Supposedly they aren't granting extensions, but I think they will have to or they will be failing a bunch of kids. They also didn't make this date formally known until just this past Tuesday.

In short, FML.

tl;dr version: I hate this school, and will have an honorary doctorate in BS...ing once I finish this.
Thats half the point of getting your BS degree.

Yeah, that's my thought as well. Best Man or Maid of Honor does all the plans, the person getting hitched might be able to have some input on it, like if he's allergic to shellfish, to not go to some sort of all-you can-eat Seafood buffet. But yeah, if Bridezilla wants everybody there at a $300 dollar a night hotel with table service there, she can plan on playing for it herself.

Fun enough weekend for me this weekend, which I really did need. GVSU pretty much Steamedrolled over Saginaw Valley saturday night, and Eric was having a bondfire at his place, stayed there all night and partied. Got a boob cookie. Think things died down around about quarter to 4 and then hauling the cooler back and forth a few times to put the fire out. Told them idiots that they shouldn't have rolled this big log into the fire at around 3 I think it was. Oh well. I left there around 11:30 and then headed on back home to the real world. :(

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 83: Hot Toddies and Cool Weather

Hi Ralph

I have to go back to work to get a break from working around the house this weekend.
