Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 82: Games in a Season for the big boys

when I posted my original rep whore post this morning, BPH was my top rep. [stupid question] how much is max rep? [/stupid question]

That IS a stupid question. Max rep is whatever rep you are at now, since its the most you've ever had! :D :p

Or maybe its 2,147,483,647.

I think he meant "how much can a person at max rep, rep per time?" ;)

And I don't remember.

Oh that definitely involves math. It's something like max rep +1 for each thousand posts x Pi / seconds left in the current solar rotation.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 82: Games in a Season for the big boys

I've had 1200lb steers/bulls mad at me before, you just have to know how to handle them! :p
fingers in the nostrils, squeeze as hard as you can, twist. They'll stop right in their tracks, and stare at you, getting more ****ed by the minute.;)

so much for that dude in chaps who tried to tell me, "you can pick your nose, you can pick your cow, but you can't pick your cow's nose!"

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 82: Games in a Season for the big boys

Drove to Fenway, found a meter, paid .50 to park. Good thing given the weather. Got through the first 4 batters top of the first when it started to pour. Out came the grounds crew with the tarp. Rain lasted for about 40 minutes, tapered off, no grounds crew to remove tarp. The guy behind me got weather satellite info on his phone, saw much more rain on the way. Rain started again. Hard. Decided to leave around 9pm. Glad I drove over to the ballpark as it was pouring.

So, I posted this in the Sox thread. It was the top of the 1st, one out and the bases were loaded. Game was postponed, they'll make it up on Sunday. Do they start as a new game or from when they called it?

I believe the game starts anew.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 82: Games in a Season for the big boys

Let us visit the official rules (MLB.com).

4.10 (C) If a game is called, it is a regulation game:
(1) If five innings have been completed;
(2) If the home team has scored more runs in four or four and a fraction half-innings than the visiting team has scored in five completed half-innings;
(3) If the home team scores one or more runs in its half of the fifth inning to tie the score.
(d) If a regulation game is called with the score tied, it shall become a suspended game. See Rule 4.12.
(e) If a game is called before it has become a regulation game, the umpire shall declare it “No Game.”
(f) Rain checks will not be honored for any regulation or suspended game which has progressed to or beyond a point of play described in 4.10(c)

3.10 (C) The umpire-in-chief shall be the sole judge as to whether and when play shall be suspended during a game because of unsuitable weather conditions or the unfit condition of the playing field; as to whether and when the play shall be resumed after such suspension; and as to whether and when a game shall be terminated after such suspension. He shall not call the game until at least thirty minutes after he has suspended play. He may continue the suspension as long as he believes there is any chance to resume play.

Rule 3.10(c) Comment: The umpire-in-chief shall at all times try to complete a game. His authority to resume play following one or more suspensions of as much as thirty minutes each shall be absolute and he shall terminate a game only when there appears to be no possibility of completing it.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 82: Games in a Season for the big boys

So uh. 2147483647 point(s) total :D 'tis max?

now, is it most likely that it will be the top 3 people? Because I have no idea when it happened.

If so: Siouxfaninseattle (REDRocket, Sloe Gin) 1236 EDT

If not, the next two are wT and DisplacedCornellian.

Ugh. At work today, I saw a rather large woman wearing a sports bra and and a matching pair of sweatpants. I didn't know whether to gag or to stop my demo, run to the center section, and find a t-shirt she could wear.

evening, Lodge. Had a great day today, including talking to an old friend from high school, getting permission to do some fundraising at one of my favorite restaurants, and I actually met my goal on my demo today. Not bad.

Correct answer: c) all of the above.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 82: Games in a Season for the big boys

HP15,

The amount of Rep that one receives from someone at maxrep is slightly more than 21,474,836. Use that figure.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 82: Games in a Season for the big boys

That is lazy math right there sir! Give him the formula. :p

:p He won't be able to reconstruct things that precisely.

rep power = floor(rep/100) + floor(posts/1000) + floor(days member of USCHO/365) + 1
