Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 82: Games in a Season for the big boys
I went there already, and I still voted for it. Granted, at least a third of it is a handjob in building form for the Montreal Canadiens, but the entire place. is. AWESOME.
And even though I got a picture next to it, I didn't touch the Cup. No bringing that jinx upon the Wild
I was there a couple of years ago. And yes, I could do with less Canadiens stuff, but I understand why it's that way. Also, I was somewhat able to put my personal feelings aside - I kind of groaned at the locker room, but also found it kinda neat, at least from a general fan perspective. I also got a kick out of the family that was in there at the same time as me (I think they were from Boston; the Sox were in Toronto that weekend). They put their little kids behind the goalie leg pads to get pictures, and the kids started bawling almost instantly. Good little Bruins fans right there.
And no, I did not touch The Cup, either. I did take a bunch of pictures of it, got my picture taken with it, and stared in awe at it for about 20 minutes, utterly oblivious to the rest of the people in the room...at least until someone asked me to move, and I realized quite a crowd was waiting their turn.
In my defense, there was no one else there when I stepped up to it.
I love the Hall, though. I love the memorabilia, and the displays (good bit of UNH stuff in the women's display case
), but most of all, I love the trophy room. Incredibly well-done. I could go back a few more times. Hell, I'd love to find a job there (in fact, I believe my dream job resides there).
Nah - RStarr. She's crazy AND flat.
I
knew there was a reason I liked you (other than the excellent relationship advice). Brilliant!
(This post not underlined, because, christ, that's irritating, even to me.)
