We still don't have power. Likely going to head home tomorrow afternoon.

The second nasty wave of storms came through this evening. I watched a boat, on a lift with a canopy, get thrown into the air, and the boat went for a free sail. I ended up retrieving the boat that had beached about a 1/2 mile down shore. Luckily I don't think any damage was done to the boat.

Didn't lose power here, but our neighbors across the street did. Streetlight is out too...

Morning Lodge.

We lost power from about 4 am to noon yesterday. More storms last night but no power issues. Now at a hockey rink with Jr for open practice. It starts at 7. Girl working wouldn't open the door at 6:50 and when she did was very snippy. "We don't technically open till 7.". So how do kids pay and get on the ice by 7?

Good morning Lodge! Glad you Minnesotans made it through the nasty weather last night. Supposed to be a beach day today but it looks like it may be more cloudy than thought. But the sun is out now so I'm going to have breakfast and go to the beach. Because it's summer! And that's what you do.

Good morning Lodge.

Breakfast has been served. Everything omelette's, English muffin toast, fruit, juice and coffee made via French press.

Getting ready to help out a friend clean up from the storm. He lost about a dozen trees. Good thing is that I get to keep as much wood as I want. Great timing as my wood supply is very low for the fire pit. Most of the trees that went down were either big oak trees or maple trees.

The g family is going to go for a long bike ride at some point today and pending what happens with the weather I think we are going to get the boat out and take the kids tubing.

Went to World War Z last night. Came outside to downed trees and power outages. Pretty darn eerie.

Sounds like as of an hour ago 22 percent d Minnesotans didn't have power.. Yes, 1.2 million people.

Never lost power, but did lose cable/internet from about midnight to a few minutes ago.

Off to my cousin's wedding. 'Twas good catching up with some family I haven't seen in about 5 years last night, and also got to meet my other cousin's (brother of the bride-to-be) new wife. Always good times with this group of family.

Supposedly, through a thing I put in at the vintage virigina wine festival, which I don't doubt... anyhow, they say I've won two flight tickets and hotel to any destination in the continental US... I haven't learned the timeframe. Where am I going? Do I hold it for hockey season? Do I hold it for an academic talk? Do I crash in on the Minnesotans?

I'll call them back and get the fine details, I was test driving a subaru at the time... I dunno... don't have a lot of leave but if its legit then it's a good opportunity

Had a nice dinner with the parents, but may have to head back tomorrow. Forgot to grab the Nissua (Finnish sweetbread) from Suomi's (Houghton) that they brought back for me. They grabbed a loaf the day they left and froze it when they got home. Mmmmmmmm Nissua..........aghghghghghghghghg (c) Homer

Did they get it from Suomi's? It's pretty much the only good thing to come out of that overrated restaurant, expect the french toast they make using it.

I love that place, although I get the omelette, not the French Toast.
