Just watched one of my favorite movies -- and Gandolfini's in it, too. Get Shorty. Good flick.
Great movie. I even liked the sequel "Be Cool," although I think I'm in the minority in that one. I thought The Rock was excellent in it.

I'm in a part of 320ville.. We lost power shortly after 2 am. Still nothing. One tree through our neighbor's two month old truck.

Apparently five miles northwest a few houses had windows blown out. Gusts of up to 90 MPH.

My 8:30 am tee time is going to come awfully quick..;)

You know it's a fun storm when the rain wakes you up before the thunder...
I awoke briefly to the rain, but when the lightning strike hit that sounded like it was maybe a quarter-mile from my house, I was up for good. Looking at radar, and the nasty stuff appears to have left. Now it's just the rain, a lot of rain here in Seattle of the Midwest.

Morning Lodge.

Power was off in Edina. Showered in the dark, found some clothes and came into the office (stopping for fast food breakfast). Now to get some work done before my meeting this AM. Wonder if the power is on at that office...

was up at the local bar for this karaoke deal, mainly the chick I've been chasing wanted to go to it....
Did you go to W4 Country Idol? I'm not surprised it was packed. Sorry your car got filthy.

*sigh*
Morning Lodge.

There are times I hate my alma mater. Parking tickets are one of those times. I've had 3 parking tickets in my life, 2 are from UofM where they've changed the rules for lots that I've parked in before.

I don't know if fighting this one would be worth it. Went to Shakespeare in the Arb last night (it was wonderful). Got back and there was a ticket on my car. This, after parking in the lot shown on the Shakespeare website which is "free after 5 pm". It seems a portion of that lot was blocked off for orientation parking. I even saw the sign when I pulled in, and checked it out when I walked out of the lot. There was a bunch of info on it, and I didn't read the whole **** thing. When I got the ticket, I went back and read the whole thing.
It was posted, but I want to fight the ticket on the basis of, the website told me I could park there, and the posted sign was too cluttered with too much information. If nothing else, I want them to have someone competent design their parking signs. Maybe something where "permit required" actually stands out on the sign, and something one could glance at to get the required information quickly.
Oh and I'm angry because based on the timestamp it seems like they were targeting the Shakespeare in the Arb crowd. The play began at 6:30 and the ticket was written at 6:37.

Good Morning, Lodge!

Lightning woke me up. Plus a combination of Mr. wore Black getting out of bed constantly to look at the hail.

I am feeling a lot better today.

Punch RoboCop in the face. (c)Twitch

The only good thing about being in Baltimore was I had 2 monster crab cakes last night for dinner. Couldn't resist, and they were excellent. Waiting for my mom/sister to wake up, then driving down to VA.

Good morning Lodge. Happy Friday! Beautiful day here in 617ville. Heading over to our new building in about a half hour for a quick tour. Checking out some display areas for some USOC materials we have that we want in place when it opens. Grand opening is a week from today and people start moving in after the 4th.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #2*2*7*6: It's Summer, why is there MATHS?!

I have been working on a new tool, that I am creating in MS Excel (some that have glanced at the Excel help thread have an idea of what I'm doing), that I discussed with my supervisor a few weeks ago. At the time the 2 of us couldn't figure out how to do it, but we agreed that it was an absolute necessity. So, this week I sat down and tried to figure out how to get it done, and I got it figured out. The only problem is, it is taking forever to build this spreadsheet, as in, I've already spent 2 full days working on it, and I'm maybe about a quarter done. My supervisor is visiting next week, so I'm planning on presenting it to him when he's here. At the same time, another group, that I work with is asking/bugging me about presenting a portion of their product presentation next Monday. This is something that I don't think I'd bring much more to the table than they already have. They're sales and marketing, and the presentation is about sales and marketing. Should I feel bad about telling them that I'm not presenting, and I'm spending all of my time(that I'm not posting) on building my excel tool?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #2*2*7*6: It's Summer, why is there MATHS?!

Afternoon,

Warm weekend on tap. Its been around 80 the last week, but now its going to crank up near 90 for the next few days. I think we are going to try to hit the Zoo this weekend. I haven't been to the one here yet. They got rid of the painted dogs, so I won't get to see those.

BB_DL are you flying in to Pitt for the Church/Chesney concert at Heinz Field tomorrow night? Seems like you go to see them a lot and you have all those miles built up.

Yep, that was the deal there at the Race Track. We didn't even get to sit down, it was that packed in there.

No worries about the car being that dirty on the outside, about 7 bucks later at the car wash fixed that. I'm a little more bummed out about some of the mud that go into the car from the tires flinging it all around.

Oh well, got another wagon in now and it looks to be in better shape than the last one we had.

No, unfortunately not. I have looked into a few of the different locations, and traveling to see that show, but I decided to save my money/miles. Shirtless Guy mentioned wanting to go to Kansas City to see it...I looked at tickets at Pittsburgh, Denver and at Foxborough, and decided to pass for this year. I'll be attending my buddy's bachelor party tomorrow: Beer, Guns, Party Bus, Brewery Tours, Bar Hopping....

The girlfriend and I are most likely gonig to be able to make it to Luke Bryan at Summerfest. Hey, pb, see you there! :D

13 hours without power now...Xcel Energy apparently has no answer as to what's wrong.
