Kind of wish I had ordered my new books earlier in the week, so I'd have them this weekend. Probably going to spend most of the day on the patio finishing the book I'm on.

Ugh on 35. I remember taking many a trip to Duluth, and having to try and time it to miss the northern traffic rush. Usually never worked. Although the summer traffic gives me reason to laugh at my brother, who works in St Louis Park and lives near Zimmerman. Hwys 101 and 169 are a b* because of all the cabin traffic. :D

Thanks on the congrats, too.:)

Want me to bring over Kluwe's book this afternoon?

Naw, I can wait on that one. It'll be like Christmas when I get it in the mail. :)

If you wanna head over for hockey, that's cool, though. Anytime after 5.

Coming up with a rough budget to see if it might be financially responsible to look into going to a boat that works 30 days on, then 30 days off. Seeing how I'm paid by the day, I would obviously be cutting my income by about 25%, and then most likely spending more with the additional time off. I think it can happen, I just might need to cut out some of the extra spending I have the ability to do right now.

Would be very nice to only work 6 months a year, that's for sure.

Having 1/2 year off would be nice, but you have to have some money to have some fun...just saying.

Ya, before I came up with the budget, I wasn't sure I would have enough extra. But for what I expect I would spend for "essentials", it does leave me more than I expected.

I could also choose to work extra days during my time off. That would help give me some extra money (and realistically, I would probably have to work an extra 3-4 weeks a year).

Also remember, during those 30 days on...no weekends. You are working 30 days STRAIGHT. That can be very taxing.

I work 28 days straight right now, then only get 14 days off. I think I can handle those extra 2 days for an extra 16 days off ;)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #2*2*7*6: It's Summer, why is there MATHS?!

Ah, fair enough then.

Yep. The 28/30 days working isn't the issue. It's the fact that the (currently) 14 days off go by super quick. I travel home on Thursdays, usually home around dinner time. The next day is usually a veg-out day, just relaxing and getting the house back in order. I also travel back to where the boat will be a day earlier than I have to be there, due to USCG regulations regarding adequate rest/sleep. So I lose my last Wednesday between cleaning up, packing and traveling. Really, I only get 11 useful days at home. Certainly makes for a weird schedule.

I do not remember voting the way I did in this poll. Interesting.

Beautiful day here in 320ville. Fun day today as well. The g family stepped out of the house at 9:30 this morning and didn't step back in until 8:00 this evening. Yard work, 25 mile bike ride and a stop for a picnic. Squirt gun fight. Grilled rib eyes and asparagus and potatoes for dinner. Kick azz cheesecake for dessert. Bonfire and s'mores. I am now enjoying an amazing bourbon on the rocks.

Edit. Just turned on the TV. Hockey. OT. The bourbon is going down smooth tonight. Hoping triple OT so I can have a couple..............;)

Pappy Van Winkle. Back and forth OT. Good stuff. These two teams are lucky the Wild are golfing. ;)

Pappy?!?!?!?!?!! PAPPY?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Oh you SOB. I would kill for some Pappy.

Having the Bowmoore 12. Solid Islay, and great value.
