Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 197: Hot! Hot! Hot!

Greetings Lodge peeps. Today is a little better than yesterday. Crazy day for sure. You know, just once in my lifetime here at work it would be nice to work with, collaborate, etc. with partners that actually have professional courtesy and also pay attention to small stuff.

Case in point #1 - we are exhibiting at a major conference in November. Print ad for program guide is due 8/31. When the strategic brief was being developed by both our brand strategy team and the partner department's communications team (at their request, mind you) I specifically put in deliverable dates, including the ad. I reached out yesterday to remind all and it winds up being my fault for not harping on it on a daily basis. While I will take responsibility for not being more of a pain in the *** reminding them about it - a) it's not like I was twirling my thumbs and just didn't do it, I've been out straight plus have had two business trips and b) it's their program, they wrote the brief. Maybe one of them could be the pain in the *** to me and ask questions. Read your **** brief and put that date on your calendar.

Case in point #2 - weekly status with a different group. The meeting is in their conference room. My co-workers and I head down there at 10am waiting for them to show up. One emails co-worker in the room with us at 10:05 with an approval on something. We wait till 10:15 and leave. At 10:20 I get an email from them that they dialed in and were wondering where we were as they were both at an offsite meeting. Not once in the many back and forth emails was this ever mentioned. We didn't dial in as we were expecting them in person. Annoying!!

Anyway, MAV - wanted to ask you again about hotels in the Mankato area. The Hilton Garden Inn attached to the arena is sold out that weekend. I will have a rental. Let me know your thoughts on any in the area, mostly for distance to the arena. Thanks!!

Good Evening Lodge!

Scarlet- is every day a Tuesday?

I had my friend and her little granddaughter over for high tea today. What a hoot. When we were texting yesterday I said I might wear a crown and dress like a queen. SO I get a call this AM that they are on their way. THe little one has dressed up, found her crown. Am I wearing mine? Poo! race upstairs, dress like a queen. find my little crown, put on a pair of earrings I had for some wedding 30 yrs ago that were a little over the top. For the win. I rock!!

Scarlet, the Courtyard by Marriott is very nice, near the mall. The other downtown hotel is the City Center hotel if you prefer to be right near the arena.

Depends what you’re looking for, really.

Hit up Mettler's. I hear it's awesome. Never been, just heard good times.

Or better yet, Mankato sucks, so stay in Rochester and go to Forager, and then just drive over to Mankato for the games.

I just don't want to have to drive to far between the rink and where I'm staying. I'll look into the Courtyard. I have Marriott points!! And thanks!

No talk of state fair food? The gluttony begins today!

I'm going after work. It will be the first of a number of visits. My wife loves the fair in an almost obscene manner. I'm expecting good things, assuming I can survive.
