Yeah, a professional service once a week would be hundreds to mow and hundreds to fertilize and weed. You could blow through near a grand if you had a full lawn service.

Ok, so pay the neighborhood kid less than that. You understood my point, is the thing.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #190: Springing Forward

We found out there were 8 offers. We lost out. :(

It's a tough market. But I'll give you the same advice I gave my brother.

Don't let yourself fall in love with a place and overpay for it. Not unless you are 100% sure it's your forever home. Stick to the real price and be prepared to lose a few houses.

People are making stupid house decisions again. Don't fall into that trap.

Our realtor is a good friend of ours. He will flat out tell us if a place is worth it or not. We passed on a place because it was on the market over value.

Sorry to hear LwB. Echoing dx advice. We paid less than market value when we bought 1st house but the market was crazy like this. Took a virtual bath when we tried to sell again. Patience sucks but is the right thing to do.

After my dad died, my mom got a yard service for the house. About 1/3 acre in Minnetonka was costing her about $250 per month for lawn care and snow removal. That covered weekly mowings, spring and fall cleanup, and having the driveway plowed by 5am if the total was over 3 inches.

Wasn't the RBB&B circus supposed to be closing? I saw their circus train heading across the RR bridge from DC to VA today.

This is the last year, then all the circus workers are running away to work in an office. ;)

Good Evening, Lodge!

Placing an offer on another place. I have no real hope on this place. There is another one in the same complex that just came on the market as well.

Good luck. It's a frustrating process and patience truly is a virtue. I've been thinking of moving, and am not looking forward to the buying process should I actually decide upon doing it.
