Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #190: Springing Forward

I have Denver and St. Louis coming up in April. Plus a mileage run to Fairbanks. So, after spending most of March jetting/driving around, I am looking forward to spending a couple of weekends at home before the next wave of travel.

Asheville sounds nice. My opinions on Whorelando are well known.

next 9 weeks:
mookie has rt to chicago.
flight to kuwait and back
flight to scotland and back
while in scotland wants to go to geneva to see cosi fan tutte on some airline that is 89/rt
then one way to kuwait again :)

part of the package mookie is getting includes 2 rt flights each year to anywhere in europe for r&r (as well as a trip back home). hoping mookie uses up all the pages in the passport and needs another soon.

1 more day of work....then on Vacation.

Yearly jumpseating on my first day back. Might try to do a Key West round trip. Or possibly into DCA and LGA. I'm probably making this harder than it should be.

Morning.

I'm in Virginia right now. She's not that great ;) .

Asheville is a fun town. About 4 hour drive from my house.

No idea where else I'm going this year. Could be just about anywhere.

Good morning Lodge. Happy Friday! It's pay day too! I like three-paycheck months.

Bracing ourselves for some crap weather over the next 24 hours. I think I'll be OK but mookie could get the brunt and I think les will get hit as well, though not as bad. But given she's out of town, not an issue!! I am taking my godson to the Celtics game tonight. Using public transportation so I don't have to deal with driving in that mess. However, tomorrow could be a concern. I have a hair appointment at 11am. I decided to park my car in the T garage this morning so I won't have to worry about cleaning the car off in the morning. Not the best timing for this storm.

McMaster U and Macalaster College are the not the same schools. One is in Ontario, the other is about 5 miles from where I sit now.

Wait. Which is which? I'm talking about the Minny one that plays St. Olaf. That one's smart, I never heard of the other one.

McMaster U in Toronto is like a Canadian Ivy League school, consistently ranked in the world's top 100 lists for colleges and universities. Macalaster College in St. Paul plays St. Olaf of Northfield in D-III sports. Yes, there are some really smart people there, but those are not the norm. The majority of students there simply have rich parents willing to pay too much money for their children's degrees.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #190: Springing Forward

Correct. We get payed our salary in 12 equal installments each on the last working day of the month.

The only other employers I've known to do that are the various colleges and universities, because that's when they receive their payments from the various government entities.

It's not the worst thing. I don't mind it.

Hourly people are paid weekly or bi-weekly.

I really don't think I'd like getting paid monthly. I like the 2 week intervals I get now.

And Clown is right about Macalaster. I really don't think of smart people when I hear Macalaster. I think stuck up, rich parents, that think they know more than they actually do. Same with St. Thomas, Carlton, St. Johns, Bethel, and all of the other schools of that ilk in MN.

I get paid bi-weekly now, but would prefer semi-monthly. They made the change to bi-weekly when we acquired another bank, but sold it to the public as a merger. It was simpler to know when money would be in my account to pay bills back when I wasn't earning much as things were tight, which lined up nicely with my monthly bills. I probably wouldn't mind monthly paychecks either, but it would be a difficult transition if you don't have the savings account built up to prepare for it during that first month after the change.
