Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #189: The Winter of our Discontent.

The back of my wrists get all bumpy and weird sometimes on the winter, may even crack and bleed a bit. Is this the psoriasis thing you are talking about or just dry skin? Or both?

Not a huge deal either way. It isn't nearly bad enough for me to really worry about in my case
That usually is eczema. Still good to check it out. Treatment for that is emolient cream right after shower or washing hands- not after you dry off. Best emilioent around- vegetable shortening. Messy tho. People bathe too much and in the winter dryness it strips the oils off the skin.

Good Morning Lodge!

Good Morning Lodge!

If you could smell my sack after not showering for 2 days, you wouldn't argue that I shower too much in the winter. :D

TMI and yick! The Derm guys will tell you- no super hot showers and only soap the TAP (girl parts/armpits, a55 and Donald's favorite cat)

That's my weakness. A good hot shower with enough water pressure to beat the crap out of you is wonderful. Water pressure was actually in my top 5 needs when I was looking at apts.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #189: The Winter of our Discontent.

Water pressure is a must for me as well. I don't need it hot, though. Just enough that it doesn't feel cold hitting my skin, which is probably around 75 or so.

Edit: Unless it's summer and I just came in from mowing. It's effing COLD then.

On the rare occasion when I hot tub, that temp better be at 105 or 106. Adjust accordingly for showers.

Might have to go to China at some point to present several days of training. Ugh.

Not happening.

Probably going to try to get a very basic level of Swedish learned before that trip though.
Need to get going on that then. Winter courses already started. I'm sure the ASI would let you in a week or two late though.

For Adult Japanese classes, the wife and I found a learning center that's affiliated with NC State. With native japanese teachers, and certifications. Not everywhere has certs or natives.
