Total count for the weekend:
2 days
930 miles
3 states
2 concerts
7 breweries

I'd say we had a job well done.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #189: The Winter of our Discontent.

I have a very minor case of plaque psoriasis on the back of my hands, more prevalent on the right than the left, and it almost exclusively makes itself known during the winter months, like now. Years ago my PCP prescribed me a topical steroid cream to clear up the issue. Funny thing about the instructions for the cream is that it says to wash your hands after applying the cream.

Okay, but I do see a problem with this method of treatment that has never been satisfactorily solved.

They mean wash your hands after applying cream as a generic instruction ie- if you apply to your feet wash it off your hands. In your case you would wash your fingers used to apply the cream not wash the affected areas. The SE of the cream is to thin healthy tissue.

End of public service announcement

The cream I'm using is beyond awesome. It hasn't cleared the discoloring completely, but it's helped QUITE a bit. Winter months will be worse. Cold, dry air is not a good thing for psoriasis.

The back of my wrists get all bumpy and weird sometimes on the winter, may even crack and bleed a bit. Is this the psoriasis thing you are talking about or just dry skin? Or both?

Not a huge deal either way. It isn't nearly bad enough for me to really worry about in my case

It's possible. I'd actually have it checked out, just in case. You don't want psoriasis to really blow up; while it can't be cured, it can be treated.

I'm really beginning to believe that Wednesday is the new Tuesday.

This is the 11th inauguration since I moved to DC. I don't think that I have ever seen such bedlam two days early before. I think that I will hide under my bed until Monday.
