Good Morning Lodge!

I'm surprised the USCHO admins haven't shut down HTML injection with all of these bots...

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #187: Lazy End Days Of Summer

Let me know your thoughts on this.....I have friend I've had since kindergarten. Actually, probably longer. Her dad and my dad went to grammar school together, her parents are my brother's godparents, etc. While she lives here in Boston, we haven't seen each other in a while. Schedules, timing, etc. I've reached out more than once - I had Red Sox tickets a coupe of times, etc. She reached out to wish me a happy birthday with a "Let me know when we can get together" post. Which I will, but how about you make the effort to say "What are you doing on such and such a day?" And then the conversation can go from there. I feel like I'm always the one reaching out. I know, it's kind of a stupid issue, and I've been guilty of not making that effort. But I have made the effort with her and due to scheduling, we just haven't been able to make it work.

Scarlet, not knowing the woman, it's tough to respond with much of anything. She might know/think that you have an extremely busy schedule and thus is waiting for you to offer up when your time is free rather than forcing you into something that might conflict with something else on your schedule.

I have a buddy I've known since we were 12, really good friends until sometime after he had his first boy. His priorities changed, as you'd expect, and I see him maybe once or twice a year now. When it comes to getting together, I let him make the first contact because I know he's run ragged with his three boys now, his job that has him on the road a fair amount, and his commitment to the volunteer fire department.

Hey, at least you get to go to Edina!

No. It was awful. :p

We didn't leave for Edina until 10am. Had to stop at a few places before we could go to the install site. Took us 3 hours to install the window and overhead signs. Still not finished. Tentative schedule is that we are going back on Thursday to finish.

This. My "non-hockey" friends are pretty much married and settled down. Maybe see them once a year at best. I basically work around their schedule and such. Heck, even many of my hockey friends have the same situation. I am guilty of not always reaching out, but at the same time, it IS easier for them to say "I have this day free. Let's do something" because chances are, I can.

"Hot Russian ladies looking for a good time!" SinglesRussian.com

That was the banner ad on the café before I could log into my account. I'm guessing that USCHO doesn't have the option to vet the Google ads that get published here.

Done working on the farm for the year. Out of vacation days, and only have 140 acres left, so they'll be done by Saturday.

Now, I need to get a line of credit, so I can pre-pay for seed and chemicals and rent, so I can start running a small chunk of land next year. Need to build a history of schedule Fs so when I get a chance to buy land I can get a low interest loan.

Going back to your roots, or doing it as an investment?

I'll be taking over the operation when my dad retires. It is still 9-10 years out, but need to start planning now. I want to continue expanding, like my dad has. So, if land comes up for sale, I want to be in position to buy it, which means I need to begin working with the bank now. I don't exactly have a couple million dollars laying around to buy land outright. Also, there are low-interest loans available for new farmers to buy land. They're trying to encourage the next generation to get into the business, since too many current farmers are 45+ years old and nearing retirement.

I have a good idea for a Halloween costume. Now I need to decide if I 1)Have the motivation to put together the costume, 2)Have the desire to actually go to some kind of Halloween party where I could wear the costume.

LTD in Hopkins is having a costume thing. If what I need arrives by Sat, I'll probably go. It's a budget costume, but I think it's amusing.
