Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #187: Lazy End Days Of Summer

Not only was it a full moon, but the nurses are the ones saving lives this week in our unit. Bunch of Bozos around here :o:rolleyes:
Oh dear.
Robotripping has been around for decades. I think it has more to do with squeezing the extra money out of the consumer. They don't even check IDs anymore for Robitussin.
It may have been around for decades but recently the real world has caught up with the rest of the world and figured out all sorts of stuff. In my state they are now legislating things that they have no ef fing clue about in the mistaken idea they will prevent problems with drug ODs, etc. You can't buy sudafed, kids cold medication or certain allergy meds without asking for it behind the counter, you can't write a prescription with hydrocodone and acetamenophin in it, They have banned hydrocodone ES, they are limiting what you can write amt/how much/when, they have a new prescription clearing house (electronic- I got out just in time!!1!1!1!!) that everyone needs to use, etc. And (sit down, the shock will kill you) they still haven't managed to do anything about providing funding or treatment facilities for all the people in trouble.

Happy Birthday JF_Gophers!!

Good Morning Lodge!

Root canal pain is overrated. Didn't even take painkillers after mine, just anti-biotics. Also had a dead tooth since I was a kid (part of the dental work that finally came to fruition in the past couple of months, finished off today).

I was near delirious after my first root canal. So, I don't agree but it's case by case. My second root canal didn't provide those issues

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #187: Lazy End Days Of Summer

A bond which I own is maturing on 11/1. I called a while back to ask what I had to do to reinvest the proceeds. They sent me the forms and instructions. On 10/11/16 I mailed the bond and filled-out forms certified, return receipt requested. I tracked it on line. (USPS sent emails.) The last message I received was on 10/13 and said that it arrived at the destination post office and was awaiting pickup. (It was addressed to a PO Box.)

This morning I decided to check up on what happened by phone and got sent from one person to another, each saying, not my department, let me transfer your call. After about an hour, I decided to go to lunch. When I returned I found an email in my mailbox saying it had been picked up this morning. I guess my calls got someone to wander to the post office after a week.

I thought everything was on eBonds now.

The securities industry has moved that way, and will never issue another physical cert. again, but there's nothing preventing long-time holders of physical securities certificates from continuing to keep those in their possession until maturity of said bond or until the stock is later transferred in ownership (sale or gifting).

Exactly. This was bought in 2001. The new one will be an EBond.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #187: Lazy End Days Of Summer

So, the night shift boss that left the company (I mentioned it earlier in this thread) apparently, uh, liberated a very expensive sander/tool a bit back (like, it was worth a couple thousand dollars). It was missing from inventory, did all the transaction research, then cued up security tapes, and if I am understanding it correctly, he was the only person in the building when it went missing. So, while he did leave the company, it wasn't exactly voluntary.

I got a massage at an Asian place today. The two women working there weren't that good with their English, making certain ideas difficult to communicate. Chief amongst said difficulties was the term "foot massage". I thought that meant they were going to spend some extra time massaging my feet. It turns out that the woman massaging me hopped up on the table and then onto my back. She was so active up there that after the shock of what was happening her balance up there amazed me that much more! After the fact, I saw that they had a pair of bars traversing the room about 7ft in the air. With that revelation, the magic was gone. :(

I've only gotten one massage at an Asian place. Same difficulty with the language. They asked if I wanted to spend another $50 for something called "joy-joy." I didn't understand what they meant by that, and they didn't really explain it, so I passed on that option. ;)

For a moment I thought that same thing was being offered to me, but then the one woman restated the other's comment and it was something else entirely. I had to chuckle while we were walking back to the room because of that. Also, no joy-joy, she actually instructed me to keep my underwear on, which is the first time a masseuse ever gave me that instruction.
