Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #187: Lazy End Days Of Summer

I think I almost got thrown out of a youth hockey game tonight.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #187: Lazy End Days Of Summer

So just got back from the dentist. Dr. wants to see my night guard. The front tooth that hurts is a shade longer than the other and he thinks I may have done something to the tooth while wearing it. That tooth hits the night guard before the other tooth. I may have hurt the nerve or something. I have to go back Saturday morning with the night guard since I spaced and didn't bring it with me tonight. He wants to see if he can adjust it. I would love it if it's something like that. God knows I don't want to have a root canal on a front tooth.

I dislocated one of my front top teeth in 7th grade and had to have a root canal. It wasn't terrible. I also had a lower front tooth die probably from when I got hit in the face during soccer. No major trauma was noticeable and I've never had a cavity in my life.

So yeah, both are in the front and I haven't had issues with them. I can't eat corn on the cob or bite into an apple because it might take out the one I dislocated. But other than that... *Shrug*

Root canal pain is overrated. Didn't even take painkillers after mine, just anti-biotics. Also had a dead tooth since I was a kid (part of the dental work that finally came to fruition in the past couple of months, finished off today).

I went tonight instead of waiting till my next cleaning, which is the week after Thanksgiving. I wanted to know if the dentist could tell if it was something that would end in a root canal. Is there an abcess, is there an infection, etc. Thought if I waited it could get worse. I look at it every night to see if it changed color. It hasn't. He wants to start with this to see if making an adjustment will help. Then go from there.

That was a wise decision.

Good Evening, Lodge!

Back to the grind today. All of us are suspicious that the Director of Marketing is trying to close us down. They are giving work to a former employee (who is freelance designer now) because they are "easier and more reliable" to work with. There are 4 people at my location and 7 at the other. We can do the work if Marketing gives us deadlines and details of the job. Not the throw it against the wall and see what sticks.

Wasn't aware the youth hockey was that cutthroat around here.

It wasn't, at least I didn't think. I was with a friend of mine, watching his daughter play in a U-10 game. During the game, another kid was whistled offside. She was NOT happy, looking back at the referee a couple of times, putting her hand up in the air once. In the middle of a conversation, the guy I was talking to missed the play, and I decided to fill him in, arm motions and all. Next thing we know, the officials are all looking over in our direction, one of them squinting to see who was doing what. :o

When did Robitussin go to 20 mL doses? Talk about farking the consumer by doubling the dose and keeping the bottle sizes and actual dosing the same.
I didn't know this. Marketed as extra strength and dose is actually weaker. Huh. Wondering if it is because of the Robo-ing (taking dextromethoriphan to get high)

tyler turned 18 today. mookie is now old like goldy & mark :(

Thankful that Brenthoven was not mentioned in this sentence. ;)

And Scarlet: trust me: take care of everything now. Don't wait.
les is also excited to be excluded.

A number of local youth area associations ban parents from tryouts around here. I know you're not a parent, but it just reminded me of it. They started the pre-banning of all parents because too many were being ejected during the process. The Schwann's Super Rink (8 rinks, 1 building) put up barriers on the windows around the rink so parents can't even spy from the warming areas.

Armadillo (a semi-retired poster) has a daughter in hockey, and he mentioned parents are banned from tryouts. Good. Sad, but good.

Robotripping has been around for decades. I think it has more to do with squeezing the extra money out of the consumer. They don't even check IDs anymore for Robitussin.
