FFT. Rex Ryan will probably get an extension now. Goddammit.

The Extras know this, but I got stuck with a flat tire today at church, a branch of church that is a good half-hour away. Decimated while driving in the parking lot, somehow. That was a nice little *ing bill I had to pay for a tow and new tire. Not to mention the 4-block walk (one-way) to walk to the tire places to see who could fix it in the next hour before they closed. Icing to the cake on a meh weekend at best, just a lot of little things that added up to the point of rage mode.

I can't keep track of all the penalties being called today!

BTW, does anyone know what slew footing is? It counts as a major penalty apparently.

Slew footing is how I ended up in urgent care back in May, and why I'm in physical therapy now. Total dick move.

Good Morning, MEUSA! :)

Good Morning to the rest of tLodge! :)

Good Morning Lodge.

We are up to 240 RSVPS for our company Open House on Thursday. Add in our staff and spouses and we'll have over 300, even with the no-shows. The place is coming together. Still a big push this week though. I sanded and stained a new table for a conference room yesterday. A couple guys here are great craftsman and built the table.

Should be fun!

Slew footing in a beer league game? Dick move at the highest level.

It wasn't even a beer league game, it was a charity tournament where the organizer's didn't even have t-shirts or any other sort of prize awarded to the winners. The guy who slew footed me was on a team that had been blowing everyone out by close to ten goals. They must've been upset because we were able to keep it relatively close and ended up losing by only 3 goals.

ETA: Had PT this morning, and had to drive into the office. Got into the parking garage next door to the building and then remembered that the Vikings play tonight. I checked the schedule and confirmed that it's a Monday night game, which means I had to move to a different ramp because they force out all day-time parkers by 3:30 on game days. Having no idea how far away I'd have to park to avoid that issue, I ended up down by the convention center, about eight blocks away, and then hoofed it back to my office.

Also, when I arrived at my desk there was a bag sitting there. It turns out that I won one of the raffle drawings on Friday, while I was out of the office. So at least there was some small bit happy time. I won a couple full-size My Pillow pillows, which are supposed to be phenomenal, and then a couple travel pillows by My Pillow to go with them. It's something like $150 worth of pillows.

I've been thinking about ordering one of those My Pillows. Let me know how they are.

Afternoon Lodge. Trying to make myself look busy today. Thought my boss was going to be gone all week, but her first trip got cancelled so she's in. I should be making a concerted effort to clean up my cube.

Today is my mother's birthday. Yesterday, my cousin and I took her and my aunt, whose birthday was the 27th, to one of those paint and pour studios. It was in a studio rather than a restaurant so you can bring your own wine and snacks. It was fun. Wasn't too thrilled with the picture we painted (a pumpkin) but they all came out pretty good. And the photographed much better than they actually looked! I think our team here will be doing another one next Monday night.

Trying to play catch up after being gone Fri- Sat and then hockey yesterday. Making some inroads but I could probably do stuff for a week before I was as organized as I want.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #187: Lazy End Days Of Summer

Aren't you retired?
:D
Retirement is a relative word. Even if I wasn't teaching I still have a ton of things I like to do- Photography, baking, gardening, Genealogy, etc. Not to mention stuff for church, following lil team and mr les team. I need a maid and an admin asst to get all the minutia done like laundry, dishes, cleaning, etc.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #187: Lazy End Days Of Summer

If any of you have been considering one of those meal delivery services to supplement your dinner menu at home, i have some invites to Blue Apron to give out. Gets you 1 free week of meals (3 meals, 2 servings per meal).

I'd say I've liked about 90% of the meals we have got so far. Most meals take 45-60 minutes to prep+make. They also let you switch out meals you may not want for others each week.

As an example, our meals for this week will be: Fresh Pimento Cheeseburgers, Crispy Chicken Milanese, and Seared Cod & Udon Noodles.
