Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #187: Lazy End Days Of Summer

Thanks to everyone for all the prayers over the last few days. We actually got some good news today that brain tumor he has are treatable via cyberknifing so hopefully after treatment eh will not have any cancer in his brain by christmas. We're lucky we caught it when we did from the perspective of the brain tumors. Still waiting to understand the plan for the cancer in the lungs, and elsewhere but that was good news today.

Good to hear!

Great to hear!

I settled on Fire Stick TV and an over-the-air antenna that I still have to get dialed in. Direct TV is likely going bye-bye here shortly.

s'upp y'all

Howdy Lodge. Quiet here today. Which is not a bad thing. Taking my niece out to dinner tonight. She lives at school a few blocks from the office. Figured she'd appreciate a break from dorm food.

mookie - will you be at the exhibition game on Saturday? I still have the placemat poster thingies from the banquet, including the one from the previous season, plus the almanac (?). Everything's been on my dinig room table since April and I'd like to clear it off!!

mookie is going, yes. if you bring all that he will gladly take it off your hands :D

With the results of massive traffic jams on some highways in the area. Not as bad as you might think from Rube's fears though.

It's not the roads I'm worried about. It's that the nearest church branch is quite close in the area, and will be over-crowded. It's crowded to begin with on NFL Sundays.

And great news Shirtless!

Good Morning Lodge!

5:30 and cheerful. Do you think my students will be awake enough to handle it?

I generally like Amazon, I have a Prime membership, but the Fire Stick has underwhelmed me. There's more buffering, and the video pixilates more often than when I use my Apple TV device. The root cause might not lie with the device but the data connection or insufficient server capacity offered by Amazon (which may or may not hold true).

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #187: Lazy End Days Of Summer

Working on planning my NYC trip. Have to plan it around the schedule and plans of the guy at our distributor that is hosting me, so I'm staying at a hotel that is convenient for him to pick me up at, but not real convenient for finding dinner, or checking out breweries in the evening. Not ideal, but I can't complain when the guy is offering to pick me up and drive me around the city to different customer sites all week. I'm just building in some significant "transportation" expenses into my cost estimate, so I can get cabs a couple nights to see a few places I'm interested in.

where exactly is the area in which you're staying?

Long Island. Not far from Farmingdale, off of the Long Island Expressway.

you'll be near bethapge. guessing you won't drag the clubs :)

mookie's roomie grew up in massapequa park. drove through that area a couple times. far enough that it's just LIRR and no subway service if memory serves. nice that the dude is up for hauling you around ;)

I checked for subway/LIRR near the hotel, and its a bit of a hike just to get to a station.

Yeah, won't have time for golf, and haven't played enough to tackle Bethpage.

Glad that I don't need to drive while there. This is the third time I've been out east to work with this guy. He's great. Drives me around, takes me to local "hidden gem" local restaurants, and he's got tons of stories. One of the few guys (with the guys in Green Bay being others) that I really enjoy working with in the field.

Checking in. Have been overworked and overwhelmed the last few weeks. Have 4 days off (including the hub's birthday). Running a 5K on Sunday with free beer, lobster rolls, and chowder afterward.
