Every part of the northeast is close to every other part. Drive it there - you're retired with nothing better to do. Tell him you'll do it for $200.
He is in Indiana. Going there once was enough.
Ask the other freight shippers that work with non-commercial clients - FedEx and USPS are the only other two I really know. The USPS might be your best bet. Does the university allow staff to use their shipping contract with later reimbursement? If so, they likely can get better rates that we can on our own.
Hmm, I don't know. I don't think so but I can check with mr les.

Thanks!

Hi Lodge.

Well, what do you know? I'll probably see you there! We're living in Northfield, VT now, where I work at Norwich U.
The (first and) last time I saw you was Oct 2009 at the Sullivan Arena in Anchorage, Alaska!
I haven't decided if we'll go to UVM Friday or Dartmouth Saturday (it's one or the other), but I'm leaning toward Dartmouth because I know I'll see Gutterson a lot while I'm assigned here (with all the Hockey East games there).
There won't be any young AF guys staring at you & your friends all game this time, but at least I'll be able to introduce you to my family!
No need for young AF guys, I'll be with the newly minted Mr. wT.
Let me know which game(s) you end up going to. Hopefully we can say "hi".

Is the hubs going to be Mr. T for short?
:)

My uncle wants to ship a rocking chair. UPS wants 400$ The thing isn't huge or very heavy. Anyone have any suggestions?
Put it on the bus on 11/16 and tell your uncle to drive to Notre Dame. (Either that or have your husband check it as luggage :p )

Hope today is an omen for the rest of the week. Left work at 6ish, from my building. Perfect. Tomorrow begins the last run of the Plymouth OC church-going for me. The last 4 days it will be open. A bunch of GPLers are hitting up OC Plym tomorrow (years-long tradition of OC Weds) for one last hurrah there. That, and one of these last nights I hopefully can take home the print I claimed from the place. By all accounts, it's mine, but I'm not counting it until I have it in my hands.

Good Morning Lodge.

Feels like fall here today. Car said 50 when I got to the office. They're starting the sodding of the office yard today. The bobcat they're using has a loud backup alarm, I'm sure it'll be annoying me all day.

I've been stuck in unventilated areas all day so I can't wait to get out into that crisp fall-ish air.

Hot as Hades earlier today and humid. Now cooling down. Wind is up. Hopefully the cool front is coming thru.

Landing around 9:30 so hopefully all weather will be done with so I can have a smooth landing!

Finished up my year long tour of offices today. Got a little emotional at the last session. This tour has been a huge part of what I've been doing for work. And now it's over. And Friday night I head out for vacation! It's my annual Emmys trip.

While I was eating at the airport I got a meeting maker from my boss to all of us on our team, saying we should all go out to celebrate the Olympics being over, one team member is pregnant, one just engaged and it was for tonight. So, I texted a pic of the chocolate shake I just ordered and sorry I couldn't be there in person, I'm there in spirit and celebrating the end of the tour with a chocolate. She texts back saying she goofed and they all couldn't go out without me, it's actually next week. Except that I'm on vacation next week. Which she should know given its on three different calendars and I've mentioned it in several emails. Oh well.

About to take off! Looking forward to sleeping in my bed tonight.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #186: Summer Heat

Long long day at work. And Head Boss' last day. Gonna miss that guy. He knew what he had to do to get things normal, and did 'em, sometimes telling corporate to go to hell. Respected him quite a bit. The feeling was mutual; before he left he basically told me that off-site would not run that smoothly if anyone else were doing it; that my semi-co-worker and I were pretty much untouched at how we do the job. He knew it was a "just let them be, let them do their thing; it works."

And church was packed tonight, and it was very obvious it was in its last days. The Beer Tour plaques are all gone, most of the VIP Mugs on the wall are sparse, all beer signs gone, 4-5 taps are out (out of something like 25~), coolers are starting to go bare, etc. (MN law: cannot transfer ANY open bottle/keg, hence them just letting things run out without tapping another keg).

Saturday will be a sad day for me. :(
