Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #186: Summer Heat

Found out today that I'm out of a job in 10-12 weeks depending on how long it takes us to clear out the store.

The rank and file are all transferring (or being given the option to transfer) to other locations in the metro, as a manager I'm just getting pushed out.
:( that stinx.

Good Afternoon Lodge!

Wild weekend. Up and out the door at 7AM last night to go watch lil race at Dartmouth. Lunch with the SIL, home, quick shower and out to a wedding at 6:30. Loooooong night. Dinner came to the table at around 10. Woke this AM in a stupor and I didn't even drink, not even chocolate moo :(

Lil did well. 3rd man for his team and a mention in the media blurb. My pic is the headline. :D Life is good.

I just looked at Lil's page. "Son of UMass Lowell Alumni’s ...". Last I heard, "alumni" is already a plural, and even if it wasn't, you wouldn't put in a apostrophe.

Edit: Unless they are regarding "UMass Lowell Alumni" as an entity and saying that Les and Mr. Les are members of that entity. But no one would write that.

So nice to have football back to watch all weekend.

This. Some exciting finishes in the games, too!

The downside: a TON of Packer fans, since they weren't on tv here. So friggin' annoying to listen to them. They know nothing about football (apparently MN has never won a Super Bowl because Blair Walsh sucks.....um.....okay?), every call against GB is BS, etc etc etc. And it's SO fun to hear some diehard GB fan who's also a football expert after he's 5 tall beers into the day.....by halftime.

They also haven't updated anything. They did head shots, interviews, etc but they aren't uploaded yet :( They are severely understaffed in media

Hi all, back from a long weekend in Door County, WI, with some friends from tUMD. Now my liver needs a vacation.... :)

Evening, Lodge.

It's sounding like I will have most of October off. The only backup I have that isn't a boss is gone for most of November; he's headed to Brazil for 3 weeks, I believe for some sort of religious missionary or something. DHBoss is figuring out the schedules this week.

My uncle wants to ship a rocking chair. UPS wants 400$ The thing isn't huge or very heavy. Anyone have any suggestions?

Good Morning Lodge.

Picture day at work for me. One formal shot for resumes, one casual for the company website.

Got notified to start another job but there is no project number so I can't find anything about it. Don't know if it's small, big or massive. The partner who sent it isn't in so at a loss.

Every part of the northeast is close to every other part. Drive it there - you're retired with nothing better to do. Tell him you'll do it for $200.😋

Ask the other freight shippers that work with non-commercial clients - FedEx and USPS are the only other two I really know. The USPS might be your best bet. Does the university allow staff to use their shipping contract with later reimbursement? If so, they likely can get better rates that we can on our own.
