Good Morning Lodge! Beautiful day for the fair!

Mrs and I went to the company picnic for the new place last night, they couldn't have been more welcoming. Sat wuth one of the partners and his family. He's an Edina hockey dad and we know lots of people in common. The managing partner already has some things in mind for me that will be awesome.

What kind of cake did they have at the picnic?

Nailed it!

The Lass leaves for Eire tomorrow so we had a little going away dinner last night at Bennett's Chop & Railhouse in Capital City, MN. Love that place, great dinner and fairly certain if I lived in that neighborhood I'd never eat at home.
I am going to miss The Lass while she's gone for the semester.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #186: Summer Heat

Sounds like les needs to retire from her retirement.

ETA: jr just texted me "Driving an S7" and big grin. I think he likes the new job.
MY kid would drool over that job.

Good Morning Lodge!

Have nothing urgent and a mound of non-urgent things to do. Lots of reading for the U job. Front loaded. Once it is read won't need to deal with it again. So- off to the beach I go with a little chunk of papers to pretend to read. Need to get away and screw my head on straight.

Jr also got to drive an R8 last night, one of 2 in the state. Carbon fiber construction around a turbo V-10, about $260k worth. Only drove into the car wash and back, but he was in the driver seat.

I sat in a Nissan GT-R at a car meetup a while back. I almost drowned in the seat.

Well, got an email back from big shot VP guy. He thanked me for bringing the business opportunity to his attention (a big, 7 zero business opportunity), and copied the guy on his immediate staff, told him to work on it right away. So, sounds like a success story.

The Crown Rally car enthusiast club kicked off one of its most recent events at Mother Mining. The $1.5MM McLaren P1 definitely got my attention.....and sadly the owner would not let me take it for a spin. What a puke. ;)

Sitting here in an exam room for my annual physical. Appointment was for 10:30. It's almost 11:10, haven't seen or heard my doctor. Had all the preliminary stuff done. Hey les - what does low tone mean when taking BP? She had to do it three times.

You will. I still miss Daughter Miss even though she's been out of pocket for close to 6 years now. We saw her while we were in Phoenix and I basically didn't want to let her out of my sight for the whole time we were visiting. Amazing how the little freaks get into your bloodstream.

Irkel (Erkel?) from the 1990s ABC family TV show Family Matters. He was the most popular character during the show, but started as a supporting character. The dad was played by actor who also played the LAPD patrol officer who was buying Twinkies for his pregnant wife and was Bruce Willis's side sick during the original Die Hard movie.

Jaleel White is at the MN state fair!

Pics or it never happened.

Got back from my physical thinking "OK now that the bulk of my work travel is lessening, I'm going to look into joining a gym!" Got home, made a sandwich, decided to go get a mani/pedi, walked there. While I was sitting in the massage chair, I almost fell asleep. Walked home, instead of to the gym I was thinking of joining and promptly fell asleep on my couch. They took three vials of blood at the doctor's office. Would that be enough to make me feel tired? Glad I'm not working tomorrow either. Looking forward to sleeping in.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #186: Summer Heat

So I bought a new laptop after spending some time shopping online. The one I chose was a certified refurbish - fast and powerful with a 1TB HDD and 17" display and I got it cheap. The only problem is that the thing looks like it came from a princess's display case. The exterior stated it was gold, which it is, a pale gold. Fine, I don't care about that. The problem is that the keyboard face is white with this gold sort of filigree across it. It's *ing horrible looking! That part did not come across in the online photos. If I return it due to that, it's a $40 restocking fee. Decisions, decisions, decisions...

Tell people you bought it from Donald Trump.
