Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #186: Summer Heat

::waves:: Greetings my MSP friends. Flight from Spokane landed on time and a short taxi to the gate only to find that my MSP>BOS fluids delayed an hour or so. Gives me time to grab a bite to eat, though. Hopefully it won't be much later than an hour.

Hope you found something good in our sh*y airport. Yes, I saw about the DQ. ;)

Hitting up Suicide Squad at 9am tomorrow (less chance of having an audience). Dunno what to do the rest of the day. Such is the life.....

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #186: Summer Heat

You'd lose that wager. A 20+ yo Specialized.

Specialized is good.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Cannondale is not exactly top of the line anymore? Haven't rode in years, but thought they were on the downslide as far as other competitors.....

Besides the cluster**** at TSA, MSP is one of the nicer airports in the country.

No, Cannondale isn't the top bike company out there, but they're still one of the better ones, I thought. I don't really know as I'm not following the bicycle that much these days (or any other days, really). I know there are some really nice companies out there making extremely good bikes that go for something like $6,000. Very few mass-producing bike companies are going to have lines like that because they simply wouldn't have the snob-factor needed - think craft small craft breweries vs. Molson-Coors. MC might have some nice brews out there, but they can't experiment the way small breweries can because it would be tough for the big guys to justify the lost/wasted batches of brews that end up tasting like the stout version of a Natty Ice.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #186: Summer Heat

That's really sad.

Why is it sad? MSP is a pretty nice airport. It is clean, well maintained, relatively low rates of delays, great food choices that are spread out nicely, good drink selections. The whole G Concourse has a tablet to use at every seat for entertainment. Really, it is a great airport, other than they can't figure out the right way to do TSA.

I'm just not impressed with the airport. I know I don't fly as much as you guys do, so that does skew my view of things. I thought O'Hare was nice and ATL does suck. I often have mentioned that DIA is the best one I've been to. COS barely qualifies as an airport, but it's okay.

Good Morning Lodge!

So far my favorite airport was St Croix- it was like a blast from the past- no security, no lines, no waiting. Like a flashback. Close second (for people watching first place) Heathrow. It was like a movie.

Least favorite- JFK. Yuck. Large, impersonal, with many, many cranky, ugly American types. (This could be skewed by the usual reentry shock when re-entering East coast culture after being just about anywhere else. No where is grumpier than the East Coast so far)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #186: Summer Heat

Ummm. So in a profoundly financially irresponsible decision, I procured 2 dugout seats for the Pearl Jam concert at Fenway this evening. (Note, we are going to the 10 Club Party on Saturday at the House of Blues with the band and to the show on Sunday at Fenway as well.)

You only live once..?

My top three all time:

1) PDX
2) DTW
3) DEN

I like MSP, but I always get stuck at one of the outer terminals so I don't really get to see it. Same with SEA.

ORD hates me. It just does. Unless I'm in the main terminal with the T-rex.

ANC is small but sneaky good.
