Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #185: Summer Activities

Good Morning, Lodge!

Sad day for the SCSU community as our President of the university was killed in a single car roll over accident. :(

I saw that on FB this morning. It'll be interesting to see what they determine as the cause of the crash - if he was working on his phone while on the way to the meeting or something else (which would come back as an unknown cause).

I wear a PFD almost all the time in a boat.

We're planing right now to try Ida. Reports look good for multi-species and it's not as huge as Miltona or Carlos. Feel free to offer up your secret hot spots though.:D

Did a trial run with the boat last night with a modification to the trailer hitch and the new cover on the boat. Seems to track real well this way. Getting the rig dialed in, now I just need to find fish.
A very good friend from high school's family has a cabin on Ida.

Every time I see Ida written somewhere, I think it was named by slow Canadians. When asked what the name of the city should be, they were trying to say, "I don't know," but it took so long that they misheard it as Ida.

Ida is a good choice and the lake I frequent most often when I need a walleye dinner or for recreation. However, I have only ice fished and never on soft water.

Evening, Lodge. Last of 3 nights in a row. A little tired, but heart is heavy dealing with a patient. Pt is asking for one thing, but some of the doctors are not ready to give up. Pt referred to himself as a "lab rat". :( Looking forward to a few days off -- Wednesday night is a 5 course Troegs Beer Dinner :) and Saturday is Ribfest (Southern NH BBQ competition). Also getting a haircut/color (I love having my hair washed by someone else) and having lunch with a friend (hopefully).

Scarlet -- the show at Suffolk Downs was really good. If you're in town while it's here, I highly recommend it. It's a 1920s themed Cirque du Soliel show. Wasn't sure how close Assembly Square was to Suffolk Downs and how traffic would be so we ended up eating sandwiches in the car. I'd been to Assembly Row last summer for a bachelorette booze brunch (there was a beer tent/restaurant in the parking lot) and it was really fun. Looks like they've done even more building since.

More hell-work. But, hey, we get two new-hires in the next two weeks, only leaving us four workers short! Yippee!

Late July cannot get here soon enough.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #185: Summer Activities

Are we sure it's not Tuesday? Can someone check on that for me, and bring me my shovel while we're at it?

Oh oh.

I woke up sick. First time I have been sick in a long time. Never got sick in all the stress of last yr (that I remember). Ugh. Good thing about having a fever when it is hot- Leave the sun room closed up and the furnace heat feels great!

Good morning Lodge.

Can't wait to get out camping. We are leaving tomorrow after work.

Regarding work. I am working within a team that is involved in a very interesting situation. It is awesome. It has been and will continue to be very demanding for quite some time but nonetheless it has been quite a neat experience so far.

What a complete clown show of a morning. Thank God the boss has a webinar this afternoon, or I could very well find myself going home at 2:30. And maybe not coming back.

Woo-hoo, Jr got a job! A guy I know, younger son of a high school and college classmate, is kind of a slumlord. At least he has apartment buildings in not the best neighborhoods. Jr is going to paint apartments for him for $12/hour. I had Jr join our regular lunch group last Wednesday and the topic of what he's doing this summer (nothing so far) came up and Mark offered to consider him. They finally connected and talked today. We'll see how this works out.

So he's working for less than minimum wage? ;)

Seriously, congrats! A man's gotta have a job.
