Airport today. Get dropped off. The car in fron of us disgorges 2 very disgruntled toddlers. Wailing. I look for Scarlet.
No external bag check. get in baggage line. Screaming baby. (not same one) Parents making no effort to soothe. I look for scarlet.
At gate- another screaming infant. Don't bother to look for Scarlet. I realize I am holding the screaming baby torch on my own. SIgh.
Announcement made they have changed the gate. New Screaming baby.
Get on flight. Screaming MAD toddler being held by father who appears not only to have no idea how to distract or soothe infant but no interest in doing so. Thru 4 h flight periodically pokes head over seat and screams blue blazes.
Connecting flight- little toddler who thinks it is cool to drop the tray on the back of seat. repeatedly. Again and again. Partent sits there for most of 25 min flight saying no but not stopping it. At end kid screams because he didn't want to get off the plane.

Most babies in one trip ever. Scarlet I must have been channeling you. I felt you for sure were lurking somewhere close to me.

After hearing all the Scarlet Baby stories I couldn't even get aggravated. It kept getting funnier.

Well, off to Detroit next Sun-Weds. Got a sweet deal on hotel though, and it's right by the rink (Crowne Plaza).

High of about 40 and scattered snow squalls for the Twins' home opener today (which happens 5 blocks from my office).

Good Morning Lodge!

high of 86 with a few scattered showers. Just had a monsoon but the sun is out. Beautiful day. Palms rustling in the breeze, rain dripping into the pool off the eaves. Bonus- 2 doggies to keep me company.

I thnk my friend is onto something. Feel like I am on one of those BHG TV Island Home specials.

Coworker's kid was hit while riding a bike... According to articles he was med-flighted to DC children's hospital.

I'm fairly close to this coworker so it's occupying my mind

Had dinner with a couple other couples who are parents of Jr's buddies. After hearing about the costs of some of their kids' activities Mrs goldy commented that she will no longer complain about the cost of hockey sticks. One daughter show jumps horses and she needs a new horse at $20K, if she moves up to the next level of competition the next horse would be ~$100K. Other family has two boys who play violin and stand-up bass at ~$5-20K/instrument +bows that can run $2K.:eek:

My friend's daughter has a girl that does the equestrian thing. Top 5 in national competitions. The was saying the same thing about horses :eek: Dunning shoes were a bargain! Now they are free! :D
