Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #182: Snow!

One more day of work. And in honor of this my Sass is non-functional. w00t!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #182: Snow!

Today my daughter found out she was accepted into her first choice study abroad program.
So two weeks of my vacation time are now accounted for, most definitely heading to the Holy Land (Ireland) to visit her.

Guinness is good for you!!
Awesome!! So jealous! I think that will be our 2018 trip -- England/Scotland/Wales/Ireland for 2-3 weeks.
2016 is subsumed by Disney/Tampa for ~2 weeks (FF, Disney, Universal, Pearl Jam concert).
2017 is going to be half-cross country trip to Memphis in May BBQ competition. Plan is to drive (and eat) for several days across Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Fredericksburg, Cleveland, etc.. See Blue Ridge Mountains in West Virginia. Trip through bourbon land, KY. Culminate in Memphis, then fly home. Hubs is already planning it.

when mookie lived on virgin gorda the locals there referred to st thomas as "the cleveland of the caribbean" :p

(mookie has been there himself to pick up boats and didn't find that to be true. but still found it funny)

Congrats to Grey Jr-ette!

Of course, my back is starting to act sketchy before my alumni boot hockey game on Sat. Status is officially "probable" but ugh. Of all the bad timing. The night should be very fun, though, as there are some folks I haven't seen in 10+ years (planning on dinner/drinks afterwards).

So les, any good plans for letting everyone know what you think of them on the way out the door?:D

These things sound fun. NaSK and I are just doing Thurs-Mon for the Frozen Four. Should be fun.
My other vacation days will be used for a honeymoon NaSK wants to go on. I've told him ok, but he has to plan it, as I am busy planning a wedding. He has not planned anything yet. Perhaps I should just be grateful he's committed days off for Tampa.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #182: Snow!

We had the same idea as ewe, to go to Memphis in May since we will be so much closer living in NC.

Until I realized it's actually about the same drive time. :)

But we will still try to go.

When driving through Pittsburgh, skip Primanti Bros (spelling could be wrong). That place is all hype, and their celebrated sandwich is extremely bland, IMO.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #182: Snow!

Howdy Lodge! Greetings from Seattle. Got here late last night, checked Facebook and Twitter and noticed there's a big messy storm back home. Not sure when that came about. When I left the office Tuesday night, there was nothing on the forecast that even remotely mentioned a storm. So glad I moved my car into the T garage. And then another storm Monday/Tuesday! Yeesh. I hope I will be able to get home next week.

Need to find a place to watch the Super Bowl on Sunday and maybe a sports bar with a dish that will be nice and put the Beanpot on for me. Mondays at 5? I have to think somewhere will do that for me.

It's hilly here! Very San Francisco-ish. I was not expecting that at all. I want to go to the Space Needle tomorrow.

I skipped the Needle after I heard how much the elevator ride costs (something like $30 - eff that). Went to Kerry Park instead for skyline moneyshots at dusk.
