Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #181: Holidaze

Today is my Friday as well (but only through 12/28). 2 more hours 'til I rush home and finish packing. Then off to Houston tonight.

Unfortunately, NaSK has to work through the 24th, so I'm once again ditching him and visiting my family.
NaSK and I exchanged a few presents yesterday. I love that he accepts my nerdy/dorkiness and bought me a shirt with the periodic table of the elements that says, "I wear this shirt periodically..."

So, that's what the nerds are calling it these days.

S'upp y'all

I found out my Grandmother was a 4 month baby. She told her kids she was a year younger. Figured it out when I was doing the family tree for a grad school project.

Are we shocked to learn peeps had more sex pre-marriage than post?!?!? :p

wT!! I spent a little time with your uncle on Saturday. He was with the Spartans as they travelled here to play Northeastern. They practiced at BU Saturday morning. Met him there and chatted a bit.

He's letting people know he's related to a Wolverine? I'm glad you got to chat with him.

Hee! Yeah. I met him last season when MSU came in to play BU. I introduced myself to him as the visiting team's radio booth is directly above my seats at Agganis and I wanted to apologize in advance if any, shall we say "colorful" language wafted up from my seat and made it on the air. We had talked a bit then and I mentioned I knew you and he was like "Um, how do you know her" and I shared the story of a little college hockey website and how posters from all over have become friends.... :)

I need some (sort of) tech advice. I use an iPad/iPhone for just about everything.

The little g's are getting kindles for Xmas. Question is........is Amazon Prime worth the $99 for a 9 and 7 year old?

I was surprised to find out that it was common in Scotland to get the woman pregnant, have the child and then marry her into the late 1800s

They have quite a bit of family movie and TV show content, and you can split the usage of the one account between multiple devices. Usually you can try it for a month or two for free and then either cancel or pay the annual fee.

The nasty thing about the Kindle is that getting software onto them is almost entirely, maybe completely now, controlled through Amazon's store, so some apps/games aren't available to Kindle users.

This. And sometimes, even when it works, it tells you it won't work (iHeartRadio is "not compatible" with the Kindle; um, BS).

As for Prime...eh. I'm not sold on it. I just don't buy/watch enough on there.

I always figure that what was recorded in most regions in Germany for Jews back in the early 19th century was the civil marriage, and the religious marriage, for which records rarely survived if they were even kept, was earlier. :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #181: Holidaze

Good Morning Lodge.

I think I have worked out the details of my job transition. I will finish up here today or tomorrow and take PTO, Holiday or unpaid leave up until the 31st. I have to come in on the 31st to qualify for a 401K contribution from the company. I will start at the new firm on the 30th so I'll technically be working two jobs for a couple days. The new boss has info on the big project that he wants to download to me on the 30th before he leaves for vacation for 2 weeks. By the way, the proximate cause for my not having enough work here, as explained by the VP was the failure of GE & DX's company to give us enough work as promised.;)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #181: Holidaze

Morning.

It's awkward listening to my job put all these projects on my plate for the new year when I'm trying to leave.
