Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #180: Holiday Onslaught

Those days/nights aren't good
:( it they are with you long term that is bad already
Remarkable progress has been made in the 30+ days (off nitric oxide, off CVVH, PEEP from 24 to 12.5), but it does feel like sometimes we've taken 1 step forward and end up 5 places back.
Pt actually settled once we evacuated the stomach last night...amazing how well you sleep after you're relieved of 2L of fluid in your belly. Came in tonight and a complete 180 from the misery of last night - pt actually smiled (first time I've seen it in 30+ days). Of course, we had a trip to CT at 2000 (fun start to your shift), fortunately looks good under the hood from that perspective.

Good Morning Lodge.

Sorry Ewe.
Thanks. Pt appears better today. :)
Booked a frozen four hotel this morning. Grabbed a room in the Sheraton a couple blocks from the rink. Rooms are already 369/night so Mookie used points.
We're at Le Meridien - wasn't cheap, but not too bad. It's a converted court house.

Back at it tonight. 2 pts, but both appear to be on the mend (for now - *knock on wood*). Came in 2 hours early for a meeting and had to get a parking ticket to park in the garage - better not have to pay in the AM!!!!!  Am allowed to park there for night shift, but apparently, not for meetings that start just prior to my shift!

Good to hear.

I had an NP friend who would park in the Drs lot. They wanted her to park in a satellite lot when her office was 10 ft from the Dr lot. She told them to pound sand- tow her and she would quit. She saw a ridiculous amt of pts. They ticketed her every day. She never paid. Was stupid.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #180: Holiday Onslaught

Greetings from Ft. Lauderdale Lodge! It's close to 90 here today. I almost don't want to leave.

Had an office event here this morning with a member of the US Wheelchair Rugby team. What a cool guy. Threw some excellent shade at Canada, the #1 ranked team in the sport. Cool guy, very genuine and thankful. Which is saying an awful lot as he's a quadriplegic. Everyone should have this guy's outlook on life. The world would be a better place. I would love to see these guys win it all in Rio at the Paralympics.

Heading to Tampa in the morning. HP1015 - what's the weather look like up there?

Tuesday didn't start as a Tuesday, then it really tried to Tuesday, but ended up not Tuesday-ing. In fact, it was an anti-Tuesday. I'm just as shocked as the rest of you.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #180: Holiday Onslaught

Good evening Lodge.

Off yesterday and today and tomorrow.

Got the pup back from the trainer yesterday. Pup did a tremendous job and the trainer was impressed. The trainer asked if I or we would be interested in entering a NAVHDA (national association versatile hunting dog association) event as he thought that pup has potential to score in the top of the field. I informed the trainer that pup has strong genetics as his bloodlines has elite scoring pedigree. I showed trainer the pups papers/bloodlines to which the trainer really encouraged us to get involved in competitions. No way. Takes money and time.

Took the pup to a game farm today and holy shiat he was a pro. He's a natural. I am a novice when it comes to hunting pheasants. I partnered with an older guy who is a seasoned pheasant hunter as I wanted him to provide his opinion on my pup and give me some tips on how to run the dog. He told me that he has never seen an 8 month old pup work the field like my pup did. It is quite an impressive sight to watch a pointer work.

I love that stuff. A good friend has a German Setter http://s3.amazonaws.com/pet-uploads.adoptapet.com/1/7/a/107028192.jpg?336w he (and now his wife) got from a private seller (they aren't into the pedigree stuff, btw). Was pointing out stuff when she was just a little tyke (I remember holding her in the palm of my hand). Probably could have been a good hunting dog. I dog-sitted often and even now, years later, I visit, and the dog remembers me, and guaranteed will cuddle up with me on the couch.
