A NASCAR "stock" car, a Camaro chassis I think. Oval dirt track. Way too dam much sitting around waiting. He was scheduled for a 3 PM drive, he got in a car about 5:15. He did a ride along with a pro driver first, then the solo run. I really thought he'd open it up after he got the feel, but he never did. Said he kept thinking about the $15K a wreck could cost.

Got it. I have always wanted to try something like that.

My cousin did the NASCAR thing with a big time car on a NASCAR track a couple months ago. He didnt like it. He didn't like the fact that he could not see over the hood and had to heavily rely on the spotter. Single file going like 170 mph. Every few laps the leader would stay low and the next car would take the lead and the leader would take the rear.

At one point in my life I "came this close" to getting behind the wheel of a top fuel dragster.

would be tempting, but I think when things start getting blurry at around 140 would be enough to keep me from really getting on it.

Good Morning Lodge.
I'd be thinking about my personal well-being more than the money, but his thinking is understood. :)

When I was his age I raced motocross and was too cautious to be any good, but I was not as cautious as he was yesterday. I would have gone faster. I might have been cautious in the turns and let off too soon, but I would have hammered it on the short straight.

The thing was, I concluded that the extra insurance they try to scam you into was a waste so when he turned it down they gave him a big spiel about how much he could be charged for. The thing is it's a $1K deductible. The odds of doing over $1K damage to those things is miniscule and if you listen to the instructions, non-existent. In several hours of watching we saw the ride-along (pro driver) spin out a few times and only once come close to kissing the wall and one amateur driver lose it a little on a turn and never came close to hitting anything. You'd have to push it really hard to hit anything and to do more than a little sheet metal bending you'd have to be driving really crazy.

Good morning Lodge. Here at my foot surgeon's office for my 9:15am appointment. It's almost 9:30am. Is he really THAT far behind this early in the morning?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge: 17th Edition: Summer Isn't Just A Stripper's Name

I ended up having a really good weekend. My friends had a Thursday to Sunday weekend planned at a cabin, just south of Grand Rapids (roughly half way between Bemidji and Duluth, for those non-Minnesotans amongst us [far to the north of Minneapolis]). I couldn't go there for a couple reasons, mainly work and distance, but the buddy with the cabin had to back out due to a last-minute business trip. So the others then planned for a weekend at another friend's house, which I could attend when not in the office. We all knew each other from back in high school and still get together when we can, a group of about ten people, plus their husbands and wives. We had a blast around a bonfire Saturday night, even though it took a while to start due to all the rain that came through this weekend.

I know it's hot here. But signs are up everywhere that the pool area closed at 9pm and it's 8:52 and people are cooking. Giving them to 9:10 and then I'm saying something.

I'm aggravated because my garbage disposal isn't working. Well, it's kind of working but once I shut off the switch water bubbles back up. This happened before and I bought a new disposal. I don't want to have to deal with that.

So, did you bust 'em?!

Took Wed off. Have some errands to do before the road trip, and didn't want to do them after work. It's good to have a LOT of PTO.

Dis gon' be gud. /meme

Well, the traditional first anniversary is Paper so you could just give her cash money, the modern is Plastic so you could get her a nice gift card. Either of those will show her how thoughtful you are.:D
