Making a meatloaf using salsa instead of ketchup or other tomato sauce. Let's see how much of a disaster this turns into.

The first few bites will be really good, then you'll get sued into oblivion and end up broke.

Oh, and did I mention the roofers showed up well before 7AM next door to prepare to start work next door? they 'started' exactly at 7.

Gotta make hay while the sun shines.

Dang it, its sunny, but only about 65 out there right now. A little warmer would be better for drying out hay.

Have to appreciate a prompt contractor. Being on the ball like that shows great management. Sounds like someone I'd like to work on my house.

Sorry to hear les.

Planning to be camping all of next week. If this heat and humidity is still around I might need to figure out a back up plan. Heat and humidity and a tent does not sound fun.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge: 17th Edition: Summer Isn't Just A Stripper's Name

Currently in Mar del Plata, Argentina, sitting in a hotel conference room, during a training, looking out over the Atlantic Ocean. I am not attending training, or giving training, I am simply here so that my group "has a presence at the training", and so I can answer questions that may come up about my product.

Travel has been hell. Left Bogota at about 7PM on Sunday night, flew overnight to Buenos Aires. As usual, couldn't sleep on the plane. Got into Buenos Aires at 3AM, and caught a taxi across town to the other airport, and caught another flight to Neuquen at 7AM. Got to Neuquen and crashed, I was exhausted. Worked in Neuquen (inspected an engine running at an oil well site), well, actually in the middle of nowhere in Patagonia. A place that makes North Dakota downright cosmopolitan. Had to get back to the airport for my flight last night at 9:20PM, which was delayed an hour. Landed in Buenos Aires late, and found that despite advertising a hotel shuttle, the hotel didn't have one. Took an hour to get a cab and get to the hotel, got to bed at about 1:30AM. Got up this morning at 4:15AM, to catch my flight to Mar del Plata. Got to the airport, we were told that our flight was cancelled, and we should drive the 5.5 hours to Mar del Plata. Decided that was not an option, and was in line to cancel our flights and reschedule our return flights to come back home tonight, when someone told us that our flight to Mar del Plata was "uncancelled". How does that happen? On top of that, they didn't delay it, so no one was even checked in, and it was 20 minutes before takeoff. We got to use Sky Priority lane, and got our bags checked, and through security just in time to make the flight. A total of about 10 people made it in time, the rest were left behind, despite being told that the flight was cancelled.

Here for today and tomorrow, then finally start heading home tomorrow afternoon. Mar del Plata - Buenos Aires - Miami - Detroit - Minneapolis. Not going to be able to sleep on the 10 hour flight from Buenos Aires...crappy.

F him after that speech. It's an awards show. Not a political/social platform. I do support LGBT, but that speech made me want to vomit. So much an inappropriate setting. And s/he killed someone. Guilty or not, is up in the air.

Award should have been given to Lauren Hill.

And worst of all one of Lil's teammates drowned this past weekend. Awful, awful circumstances. Took pics of him at the meets and joked around with him the past yr. Devastating in so many ways. Can't believe he is gone and I won't see his skinny but leaping over the bar one more time. So effff*ing young. :( :( They started a go fund me page and it is heartbreaking to read the comments. He was so loved. The kids are giving in bits and pieces and sometimes more. Reached the original goal in less than a day and still climbing. They are going to start a scholarship in his name.

Ug. :(

OMG I can't even with this.

That's fine. Difference of opinion. FTR, I hate all pol/social platforms in award shows, even if I agree with the statement. It's not the place. And in this case...Caitlyn could be convicted of manslaughter. What if s/he didn't have the transgender operation? I think we'd view Jenner (at that point, IIRC) in a different light.

Hil should have won it. If one wants to really bend the rules, Leah Still (or Devon, her father) should have won it.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge: 17th Edition: Summer Isn't Just A Stripper's Name

The last I'll say:

Caitlyn is brave. No doubt. Amazing story. But given some recent news: http://www.chron.com/sports/article/Report-Caitlyn-Jenner-s-camp-pitched-ESPY-award-6386089.php

and the fact that Lauren was going to, and did, DIE...she's more of a hero for sticking to her dreams, and her team allowing her to live it.

Agreed. Her getting that award was nothing more but ESPN whoring itself out just for ratings. If they wanted to do it more of the right way, they could have had her present the Arthur Ashe, and maybe give her some special recognition or something during the awards. Hill, the Still's, or Noah Galloway would have better options for the Arthur Ashe. Jenner hasn't been involved in anything sports in what 25 years??

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge: 17th Edition: Summer Isn't Just A Stripper's Name

That little girl and Lauren Hill have been on my mind a lot the last 6 months. I haven't talked about this much...haven't told many about it. But my mom's last round of chemo is on Friday. She's fine...they caught everything early and only did chemo as a precaution. But it takes a lot of bravery to stare death in the face. Is Caitlyn Jenner brave for what she did? Absolutely. But it's apples & oranges.
