Look who came to visit....Capt. hp

Putting the boats in the lake. Not working on Friday is teh awesome!

Been lurking but been the same old work grind for me the past 3 weeks.

Looking forward to July 10-18. Back home to Escapee land for a handful of days, then over to Maine for a few days with my Mom.

Those of you who follow me on Twitter should go have a read. I think I've finally lost my mind. Or I'm drunk. Or both.

Good Morning Lodge.

Not going to speculate on DL's condition and don't follow him on FB.

With all of the thunderstorms we have been having in 202-, 301-, and 703-lands lately knocking down trees, this place is soon going to look almost like North Dakota, although not as flat. :D

We had a decent one here last night; thankfully just flash flood and no tornadoes.

Something's happening to our department here at work today. I think we're being absorbed by another department. Crap.

Roads follow the lay of hills and rivers and creeks (cricks). Duh :)

Yeah, I know they follow the hills and creeks, that doesn't make them any less spaghetti-like. My brother and I were trying to get to the top of Duquesne Heights to see a view of the city while lit up at night. There was all of one way into the area, and my map listed a name for the street, only to zoom in and find out that it has a different name where the turn had to be made, and there was no way to get back without a few miles of retracing our path. It's all very different from a road system carved out of farmlands.

Brunswick/Freeport main(e)ly. Dad's side of the family has roots in that area, so growing up we went over there maybe not every summer, but certainly not far from it.

It's been years since I've gone over, probably close to 5 now I guess. Escape the Florida jungle for a bit and rack up airline points.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge: 17th Edition: Summer Isn't Just A Stripper's Name

Yep. Head of our team, my boss' boss, is leaving, we're being absorbed into a different group. No reductions in head count. We all pretty much knew this was coming but I honestly thought it wouldn't happen till after the Olympics next year.

Good Afternoon, Lodge!

Really slow at work. I am printing a large project, that is it. Time for personal design work and see what kind of vinyl graphics I can display in my house.

Sounds like it could have been much worse....I always hate those mystery meetings.

And now we play the waiting game. I suspect I'll hear nothing, but I'm taking a shot. I've got to do something, and soon.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge: 17th Edition: Summer Isn't Just A Stripper's Name

Hey, Idiot Moron I have for a truck loader, maybe if you did your job half-correctly, people wouldn't be coming down on you for not doing your job.

Me: Drop off this load, and come right back.
Him: Ok. (main building is not more than 5-7 minutes away)

*60 MINUTES LATER*

Me (via IM to boss): Has Idiot Moron left?
Boss: No, he's just leaving now, he was preparing his orders.

Idiot Moron gets back to my building. I calmly tell him, "I said, drop off and come right back."

Idiot Moron then throws a tantrum that would make a 2-year-old proud, about how everyone blames him, and this and that, and whatever, while he loads up his truck. He's quite literally screaming to no one, and I was sitting in the break room.

Tomorrow should be interesting, as Idiot Moron tends to hold a grudge for a couple days after he gets reprimanded.

Today was more productive than I thought. Unexpected ****storms arose.

This is pretty awful, but after six months, I've secretly dubbed the new ticket support guy "Newman". We all react in that same way when he comes waddling up to our cubes, eager to get an issue out his queue and onto one of us.
