Gonna be a long night. Wife has to work early and already went to bed, but I am going to try to stay up for the Vikings game. Probably a poor decision on my part.

The longer Carlos Hyde goes without scoring 2 TDs (and gets 100 yards), the longer I will be staying up to watch the game.

Anyone watch American Ninja Warrior tonight? Holy crap. Those guys are nuts.

It is definitely a Tuesday. My patient slightly dislodged his breathing tube causing a fountain of nastiness and now he won't just sleep! It's been a very active night in the MICU here - of course, because I'm getting to the good part in my book!

gmann - read back in the previous thread - Awesome about the Vikings. I've given up watching football for ethics reasons, but it's good to read that there are still good people in the league who give a chit about the fans. How is the dog?

MNS - I don't really do mornings and working on day shift meant that I had to be up at 0515 and out of my house before 0545. On night shift, the hours are similar, but I find that my body hates getting up at 1715 (at the latest) way less than at 0515. And fewer, administrators and "help" is definitely more my speed. Now if only the patients would cooperate!

If you can find something on circadian Rhythm to read it is truly fascinating- Resp status is the lousiest at 1-4 AM, BP highest at 8-10Am, Cortisol levels best at 8 AM, Gastric acid the most at 11PM, Kidney function is most active at 3-4AM etc. None of this is affected by what shift you work, whether you are awake or asleep. That is why you bloat working nights- you don't diurese well if you are not flat.

Went to a class on it once. Easily the most fascinating class I ever took. They figured this all out when the astronauts were having issues orbiting earth. Most of the research started from NASA stuff

Good Morning Lodge.

I'd die in about 2 weeks of trying to work night shift. Maybe less.

Morning.

Taking my first certification test today. Knowing the content doesn't ease the test day jitters even at my age!

Caught that last night. yeah, the upper body strength on those guys is nuts. About what most primates would have. And then you got the guy who won it all last night posing during the course to work the crowd.

I found $40 on the floor today. I have no idea about how to contact and find the owner so I think I just earned a tip for either being perceptive or simply hanging my head low.

Why you mad? Packer Fans slowing you down on your ride? Not that I disagree about Damm Cheeseheads...

A car with a "Univ Wisconsin Alum" Maryland license plate cut me off while I was bike riding.
