Because I am getting old and getting a lot more aches and pains. :)

I know from experience that stopping exercise will just increase the aches and pains. OK, maybe cut back a little, say from 150+ miles/wk to 100+ mi/wk.

Mornin' y'all. Hockey season is close.

I purchased tickets to the Stadium Series game at TCF Bank last night.

That holds absolutely no interest for me. I did it once a couple years ago with the Gophers and OSU, that's enough.

So did he. I guess he's a glutton. I will pass this time around given the cost and the sightlines. I'll watch on TV.

There's not much I liked about the actual game viewing itself for reasons you stated, but everything else around the game had the charm. I can do without the charm again.

You guys are reinforcing my take on these stadium games. Thank you for that. :) Never had any interest in going unless I had a huge group that wanted to hit the party atmosphere and not really see the game.

Two first days of teaching have gone great. First full time gig as a teacher and it's tons of work, but I'm not freaking out as much as I did last year. It's good to have last years experience.

I'm just arriving home from the office today. I had to stay late for some work that I'm going to finish here shortly, but also my southbound bus had a driver that decided to take us on a northern tour of the city. That's pretty much how the day went from about 12:00 on to leaving.

Might get 40 hours not counting the holiday. Whee.

A "Fall Party" with some GPLers this weekend, and of course the start of 4 months of Sundays at Old Chicago for the NFL will be a refreshing reward.

Good Morning Lodge.

Couple kids I know had their first USHL preseason game last night. They scored all 3 goals for their team in the win as Waterloo beat Cedar Rapids.

Morning

Told my boss yesterday I was considering moving to Raleigh. I have to know if I can keep my current position or not before we decide to buy a house there. So now I wait while he decides...

Pins and needles!

Was their joy tempered a bit by the knowledge that they're stuck in Iowa?

#1: What should we do tonight?
#2: We could go look at the cornfields.
#1: We could watch some cows.
#2: We could get really amped and go review all the presidential primary election content pertinent to our new hockey home.
#1: We've got loads to do! Whoever said there's nothing to do here doesn't know what they're talking about!

It's worse than that. They are not just stuck in Iowa, they are in Waterloo, Iowa. It's not like they are in Iowa City, Des Moines, or Ames where there are colleges and stuff, it's Waterloo.

At least they can focus on their hockey careers and avoid any and all distractions. These are two very different kids. One is smart, mature and studious and I'm sure he'll figure something out. The other is...not. The second one, whom I know the best, is the one I worry about. I just hope he doesn't manage to find some way to get into trouble in Waterloo...

Waterloo has the University of Northern Iowa, a D1 school, surprisingly. The gophers played them a few years ago in football. I think Brewster lost because that's just what he liked to do.

If he does get in trouble it might be his Waterloo.
