Yo, Lodge.

State Fair day. Time to eat all the food. Hoping for three food comas, but will settle for two. Depends if I can get a breakfast Jucy Lucy or not; last year they were a hot seller. And just to make the non-MNs drool: deep-fried apple pie, porketta wings, gator bratwurst, sweet corn ice cream, and of course, Tom Thumb donuts.

Good Morning Lodge.

Maybe I'll see Brent at the fair. Mrs and I will be heading over soon. I won't eat a fraction of what the Rube will eat, but I won't be dieting either.

Gator bratwurst is not at all good. What they server there is just bland. The only reason those things sell is the novelty of eating gator meat.

Good morning from beautiful San Diego my lodge friends! Just finished breakfast sitting outside. I love that! Heading up to the Carlsbad area to meet up witan old friend who now lives out here and she's taking me to the beach. It's a holiday, so even though I'm out here on a business trip, I'm taking the day off.

Having a "pile" day today. Watching the West Wing and did some design work on the computer. Husband is at work. Thinking Chinese food and then the hot tub later.

Boats are in the cellar, dock stairs are away, hose in, planters all in, all the water toys/ noodles are in, the beds in the loft are stripped and the fridge is cleaned out. Ugh. I hate the end of the season. The loon is wailing down the lake. Apropos.

Sigh.

I thought the ones at New Bohemia were rather tasty. Skipped the porketta wings this year. In hindsight, glad I did:

Breakfast Jucy Lucy, mini-donuts, all you can drink milk, deep-fried gator (the nuggets, not the bratwurst), hush puppies, sweet corn ice cream, a mini-donut beer, and deep-fried apple pie/w cinnamon ice cream = 2 food comas. I cannot eat any more. I. Am. Full. This was all in about 4 hours.

Too **** hot to do much of anything here today. trying to work up the motivation to go work on some fencing out in the back pastures, but just not feeling it.

Forgot to mention, thanks to a tip from bbdl, picked up a bottle of bourbon maple syrup at the Fair. It's friggin' delicious. I'll probably use it as a glaze on ham or chicken.

Hard to believe summer is winding down. Went out for bluefish this morning... no luck. Spent the rest of the day at a sandbar with the family and some friends. Hard to believe the kids are back in school full swing tomorrow.

Morning.

10 hrs of driving to get home from NC yesterday. But, did get to drive a fantastic road in Virginia. Very curvy, and through the Mtns. Speed limit was 55, but good luck going that fast for very long!

Made me wish I wasn't driving a Ford Edge at the time.

Good Morning Lodge.

Didn't eat too much at the Fair yesterday.

JF, is there any driving that doesn't make you wish you weren't driving a Ford Edge?

3 day week. Heading to Michigan for a buddy's wedding on Friday morning. I'm in the middle of a stretch of 4-day week, 3-day week, 4-day week. Short work weeks rule.
