Summer ends when the State Fair ends. It's science. I agree with goldy.

I don't know about this state fair stuff... but with the kids back in school pre-labor day, it sure feels as if summer is over, even though this is usually the end of summer holiday weekend.

You have obviously never been to the greatest State Fair around, nor have been a Minnesotan. ;)

The guys posting on this site who've been raised in MN were all in school when when state law required public schools to begin their school year after Labor Day - holdover law from our roots as an agricultural society that still held strong until around 50 years ago. So most schools began that Tuesday after Labor Day. The MN State Fair ends on Labor Day, so...

Good Morning Lodge.

Headed to the farmers market. Mrs wants to make stuff with all the tomatoes from our garden and she needs peppers and stuff cause the dam rabbits ate all our pepper plants (except one jalapeño plant that came back).

Today isn't Tuesday, is it? Work has been brutal this week. Hope the holiday slowdown starts tomorrow, rather than Friday.
Felt like a week of Tuesdays this week (and I didn't even work on Tuesday)! Monday, Thursday, and Friday were all crazy.

It took me close to an hour to get from the Lowell border to my house the other day. It took close to 40 minutes to travel about a quarter of a mile. Some dipshi7 decided to block one of the lanes on the University Ave bridge with a cruiser, lights flashing, so the policeman could stand there and berate people for not entering the intersection correctly. Of course he was BLOCKING access to the people coming onto the bridge from the dorms and the back up was so severe everyone was throwing caution to the winds and driving however they wanted. Sometimes I think the people who reach the top of the power chain are there because they disconnected anything to do with rational thought. THey were doing this at 5PM- peak rush hour. I really wonder that no one got out and chucked him over the rail. It was tempting.
Was driving into work on Monday and it took 45 minutes to get from the 495 exit on Route 3 to the 129 exit - that's 1 exit and about 1.5 miles. Made me seriously consider moving closer to work (especially now that tcbg and I both work 20 minutes apart, yet both commute at least 40 minutes). Of course, the rent would double, so there's that...

Maybe they booked Aisle and Window hoping they had the whole row if it were not a sold out flight...and knowing they could swap if someone was in the middle if they wanted to?

Love JetBlue internet!

What an excellent idea! We almost always fly Southwest these days as it flies from MHT and we live 10 minutes away, but if we ever fly JetBlue... (I'll also have to clue in my parents who do fly that airline).

who are you?

Nighty night nocturnal ones. ONe more day before the weekend!
About to become a nocturnal one. Orientation at the new job is almost over. Starting next Sunday, I move into vampire mode and start my night shifts. I'm not overly sad about it as waking up at the crack of dawn is not my thing. Plus, night shifters are allowed to block schedule (work 3 in a row, have 4 off), so I will have long stretches off when I plan correctly!

That ois pretty sweet!

Ugh. Weekend just keeps getting worse. Got bad news about one friend, and then attacked for trying to help another (different) friend. The latter...very defensive about certain things. Ready to cut ties. It's gotten that bad. I offer input, I get insulted and get a fistful of FUs about whatever situation.
