Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #178: Oh, mookie's dreams...

An FFL league member, longtime friend, put together a nice youtube montage of photos of all of us, capturing moments from the last 25 years or so. Simple pleasure, but it was pretty awesome to see us all evolve and reminisce about those moments. Genuine good moments mixed with inside jokes and such...pretty awesome.

Good Evening, Lodge!

Seeing gmann posts, I wish he was my dad. The only time I ever went camping was when I was 19.

I will take that as a compliment. Thanks.

Truth be told......when my dad passed away a couple years ago it made me stop and think. I know this is a cliche but I realized that life is to short.

This evening little gII and I were walking along the beach. It was dark and he had his flashlight. He grabbed my hand and said "dad I want to hold your hand because one day I won't get to." F an a. That's what it's all about right there.

Dude. Warning before a post like that. I needed to dust my place before reading that.

Me too, or at least be invited to breakfast and dinner a lot!

I will take that as a compliment. Thanks.

Thank you for providing text that I cannot unsee. Thanks to training and years of internet experience, I immediately mentally blocked that image.

Good morning Lodge.

Denver omelettes and locally picked raspberries for breakfast.

It's supposed be almost a perfect weather day. The only item on the agenda is to do nothing. Nothing except enjoy the weather and the beach and the lake. :)

Afternoon.

Anniversary weekend went well. Headed to NC next weekend for the holiday and to check out the Raleigh area.

For those of you who are into dead people- I just renewed for ancestry.com world explorer membership $199 for 13 months. Promo offering that is saving me huge bucks. No problem looking stuff up for people- it is fun- but if you want to play on your own....

I cancelled our (my wife and mine) account for the Spring/Summer/Fall. Too much other stuff going on. We will probably fire it back up for a few months in the winter.

THis price was so low that even if I don't use it for the next 4 months I am still making out.

Good evening Lodge.

Another great weather day. We played hard for most of it.

Burgers, baked beans and Pringles for dinner. Gatorade was the beverage of choice and Butterfingers for dessert.

Never attempted ancestory.com or anything like it. Wouldn't even know where to start. Not sure I would even want to as I'm sure it would suck me in and end up being a huge (but probably worth it) project.

Rumor has it that one of my ancestors Erik the Red is depicted on a couple runestones wearing something similar to a speedo.........speedo is actually derived from the Norse word skiver. :D
