Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #178: Oh, mookie's dreams...

Good evening Lodge.

Today and the rest of the week are going to be Saturday for me. I'm currently relaxing next to the fire at Father Hennepin state park. The travel trailer sure beats the hell out of a tent.

I think we picked the right week to camp as the humidity is supposed to disappear and temps are going to range in the high seventies to low eighties.

The sites are really wooded and lush with vegetation. I thought for sure that the mosquitoes would be nasty. Not the case as there are hardly any bugs.

Launches are running specials for $20 a person. The walleye season being closed has got to absolutely crush this local economy.

Picked the right week for weather. Lack of bugs surprises me. You are dead-on about the walleye season. It was friggin' war when that decision was made.

Welcome to blue collar work. I regularly put down that amount during summer (water, though, not Gatorade). About half that in winter.

My uncle works in cityslickerville as he manages a welding dept and the other day he sent me a pic of the the temperature in his office. 89 degrees. No f ing way.

I thought for sure we would get eaten alive.

A couple weeks ago we stayed at whitewater state park near Winona. That place is known for no bugs but I'm not sure why this place doesn't have any. Knocks on wood.

I made a promise to myself during spring training that I will not watch the twins whenever they are under .500. Good thing the queens are preparing for yet another deep run into the post season.

Sounds about right, and that's at my building. The main building is at least 15-20 degrees warmer (automatic conveyors, more people, etc, contribute to that temp).

Good Morning Lodge.

Bought a submersible camera at a tent sale from a good camera retailer over the weekend. Should be a fun toy to take to Maui next week. I've been wanting a camera that I could get wet without worry for a while now and finally pulled the trigger when they had them at the sale.

Logged in to my LinkedIn acct for first time in a year. Ive never got anything out of it, so I don't spend much time with it.

Don't have LinkedIn and I get invites to link from everyone. Aggravating.

Mr les routinely hit > 90 degrees until last summer. Then they put in AC they had been promising for 30+yrs. Something about D I needing good facilities.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #178: Oh, mookie's dreams...

4 day week. Yay!

We're going to a wedding in Duluth on Friday night (yeah a Friday night wedding, odd, but I don't mind). Leaving for Duluth on Friday morning, going to check out some eating and drinking establishments in Duluth, while we slowly walk from our hotel to the wedding. Should be fun.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #178: Oh, mookie's dreams...

Friday weddings are growing in popularity.

Howdy Lodge. Here at the airport waiting to board my flight to Richmond. My cab was a few minutes late but for some reason there was barely any traffic. No line at security-excellent! Getting ready to board, announcement that the plane is there but the jet bridge isn't working. Let's move to a different gate! Everyone gets up, walks to new gate. Sit there for five minutes and then are told that oh good! The jet bridge is fixed. Just got back to the original gate and waiting for people to get off the arriving flight so we can board. I hope this isn't some kind of premonition for the rest of the trip.

Screaming baby count so far?

One of my coworkers had a Friday wedding last year. She said the venues were half the price of a Saturday wedding, and even things like the photographer and caterer were cheaper. Plus, unless you're hitting a leap year, your first anniversary will be on a Saturday, which had certain attractions.

Mrs g I got married on a Friday 10 years ago. We started the trend. ;)

From what we were told from the bride (one of my wife's good friends), the cost was a huge driver for them. They had certain things they wanted in their wedding, that they didn't want to skimp on, and they also had a pretty strict budget. Having it on a Friday evening, instead of Saturday made it so they could have the wedding they wanted for the price they could afford. I can't blame them for that, especially after going though the same process last summer.

Mrs goldy and I were married 25 years ago on a Saturday. We were chatting with a friend at church recently and learned she and her husband got married the day before us, on the Friday (PS, she's the aunt of a former Gopher player).
