He saw the graduations. Maybe that was what he and God were waiting for. Hell of a note to go out on, you know? :)
I was thinking the same thing. Sorry to hear GE but it sounds like he had a good dying. Family around, not uncomfortable.
S'upp y'all

Sorry to read GE. That's the 3rd. Mookie's buddy's dad died this week and another buds mom went into a hospice last Friday with < 3 weeks to live. The woman is dam near a 2nd mom to Mookie. Mookie's been on pins and needles waiting to hear who the 3rd would be. :( my fault :(
:( sorry mook

GE, mookie, my condolences.

I decided to just buy a new bike. I got a cheap one as I'm not putting $6500 into a toy. The price explosion in bicycles is crazy these days! It's a bike, not a Ferrari. How much can you really improve the tech?

They were that expensive years ago, too, but the industry was not as widespread.

I remember when my roommate at Tech spent $550 on a Cannondale, and I thought he was crazy. Then I learned that was the low-end.

Yeah, I went really low-end, $286 for a Schwinn. It felt like a good price for a recreational bike.

And while I knew that long ago you could drop a couple thousand for a bike, the fact that each company seems to offer only one or two models under $700 these days at actual bike shops, from what I could find during my interwebs search of the local shops, was a bit of a shock. I ended up ordering mine from Amazon. It's weird, but it's like the local shops don't want the casual customer anymore. Target and Wal-Mart had some really cheap bikes, but they lacked any and all options and almost all had grip shifts, which I had on my last bike and disliked so much.

Mrs g and I purchased bikes about 10 years ago and we recently decided to get new ones. I won't go low end and I certainly won't go high end but even the mid range bikes cost quite a bit. I can justify spending the money because we ride a often and we probably won't be buying bikes again for quite some time. Also, the bike we got for little g..............talk about sticker shock!

Caught up with MNS tonight at a local watering hole. Fun time.

Forgot how interesting it is listening to the county police scanner (which DOESN'T include the Mpls city limits). Domestics, accidents, a party bus shooting, other assorted gunplay, attempted "suicide by cop," and a hit-n-run involving a pedestrian (NO it wasn't me :p).

Morning.

Might hit an amusement park today, as the company I work for offers free entry one day each year. Although there is rain in the forecast...

I see the Twins are going to visit Scarlet (and the Red Sox I guess) for a few days this week.

I thought I saw you tweet about shots fired at Lowry and Fremont. That's definitely MPLS. :D

That was the party bus shooting. The bus ended up driving to North Memorial, cops were on the way to investigate. I'm guessing dispatch sent Robbinsdale cops, hence it being on the site I was on.
