Taco cannon

I've been putting together some possible itineraries for a trip to South America (yes, it might actually happen now), trying to fit 2 site visits into 1 week. Not easy.

Sunday: Redeye to Buenos Aires
Monday: Puddlejumper from Buenos Aires to BFE Argentina
Tuesday: At Site, Puddlejumper back to Buenos Aires
Wednesday: Flight from Buenos Aires to Bogota, Puddlejumper from Bogota to BFE Colombia
Thursday: At Site
Friday: Puddlejumper from BFE Colombia to Bogota, Flight from Bogota to Home

Total of 9 flights, minimum, since the flights to and from Buenos Aires/Bogota aren't direct from MSP. More than 9 if I don't get a direct from Buenos Aires to Bogota.

This is going to blow.

So today is my dad's birthday. He's 81. Wednesday I called to see about taking him out to dinner tonight. My mom said she and my dad were going out with her boss. My parents are moving next weekend and she gave her notice. So I said, what about Friday? Fine. They get home from their dinner about 9:30, mom calls me to make plans for tomorrow. Where do you want to go? And so on.

My mother says "Have you talked to your brother?" (older brother that lives here, not younger brother out in California). No, I say. She was wondering if maybe he and his family would come. "Did you ask him?" I ask. Oh no. Of course not. She wants me to ask him. So, I texted him tonight. My brother says "I was just on the phone with them, they didn't say anything." I tell him she wanted me to ask him. "We talked to them for 10 minutes, she never mentioned it, maybe they just don't want the fanfare." I said she told me to ask you, I don't know why she couldn't when she knew she was going to talk to him she couldn't just mention it to him, and if you don't want to go because she didn't mention it, then fine. Seriously, what is wrong with him? He just texted me "I didn't say that." I'm not answering. Can't give me yes or no answer.

My family is similar. For example, I call my mom/dad to see what's up for their Bday. They say maybe dinner, talk to your brother. I talk to my brother. He says he'll ask mom/dad (and he gets put in the same situation). Finally my bro and I get a date to set things, and we figure it out. Hey, mom/dad...it's YOUR birthday. Just name a date and time that works for you, bro and I will make it happen.

Big day tomorrow. Closing on the house, then moving over the weekend. I'm already exhausted just thinking about it. I'm pumped to not be moving again one year later though. Time to settle in for a few.

My favorite part is telling people the address. They hear the "North" just before "Minneapolis" and they cringe. It's actually in a very nice quiet neighborhood just off Victory Memorial Parkway. Across the street is Robbinsdale.

I started in Crystal. That area is my stomping grounds. I worked up to Minnetonka area.

Definitely not bragging about Robbinsdale. It isn't Brooklyn Center, though. So there's that.
