Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #176 -- it's Mookie's world, we are just living in it

Got notification of a beer fest that happens to fall on a milestone b-day of mine, but the lack of vendors + price makes it not worth it (30~ breweries/$40). The autumn fest ruined other fests, it seems. That one had 110 breweries for $45. Oh well. Found a spot that will suffice. For the locals, it's the Yard House at West End. Solid place for brew.

Mr. and I are in. I have a strong feeling that we are going to get a hotel in that same area that weekend. :o

The Doubletree is a solid choice, across the street (pretty much).

Good Morning Lodge.

The week before I started this new job two of the roads I planned to take to this office were closed for construction. I found an alternate route that may be better and have taken that for the 2 weeks I've been here. Today one of the streets on that route is closed for the next month (I saw the signs in advance and planned for it). I'm now on my third route to/from office. Yay for summer, or as we call it in MN, road construction.

Got everything done with the shed this weekend, except for paint. I didn't want to paint yesterday afternoon, when they were talking about a storm coming through. Turned out to be nothing, and probably should have tried to get the thing painted too.

Finished roofing
Finished the peaks and vents
Did the eaves/soffits
Built shelves
Finished the doors

Also got the air conditioner reinstalled, after taking it out last fall. (This was a great idea, too. Needed it yesterday in the oppressive heat.)

We got a strong, heavy rain that lasted for 45 minutes to an hour, and then some light rain came along off and on. It was very much needed, so I didn't mind one bit.

Most of it missed us.:( Watching on radar on the bug on my phone it looked like the line split and went north and south of us for the strongest cells. We could sure use the rain.

It missed us almost completely. We needed the rain too. Its early May and the lawn is already going brown. The one positive is, the swamp is completely dry, and this is by far the best year at my house for mosquitos yet. Haven't been bit once, and haven't put deet on yet.

So when I had change password, I got logged out of the site on my phone and couldn't get logged back in. Finally realized the dam phone kept capitalizing the 'g' in my user name.

When it makes you change your password, you can re-enter your original password to use again. It doesn't check for prior used values. It's a pretty worthless update they made to the site.

Howdy Lodge. Another crazy day. Our global week of service starts today. I've been here since beofre 8am taking care of a million things. I hope it lets up a bit given that the projects are actually happening this week. I'll be glad when this is over.

It's supposedly 80 degrees out today. Not that I'd know.....maybe at the end of the day.

Tech's schedule (not complete) came out today. It is pretty disappointing. Take several steps forward last season, and come back with this horse**** non-conference schedule? Seems like a huge step backwards.

Keep in mind that the commitments were probably made well before the great run this past season. Most opponents are set 2 to 3 years ahead of time...

Anyone looking for a few laughs tonight? I don't know why anyone would publish the names not under consideration (along with the reasons the internet put in), but...umm.... well done internet.

I especially like 'faucet flames', 'mintberry crunch' and the number of times 'gopher reject' was input.
