Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #175: More Spring Cleaning

We had a cake-tastrophe at work today. :( One of the production areas likes having potlucks so we had one yesterday for my birthday (which isn't until this weekend). Anyway, some of my coworkers went in on a huge ice cream cake. We ate maybe 1/5 of it yesterday. Someone left the freezer door ajar overnight, and there was a big mess to clean up this morning.

The worst part though is some of these people I work with. One was bitter yesterday about how they "go all out for the new people". I'm told when she walked into the cafeteria today she had a smug look on her face and said "well that's too bad" about the cake in a way you could tell she thought we got our just desverings (can someone remind me the proper misspelling of 'just deservings'?)

After this you pushed her into the mud, right, newbie? :)

Blood would tell you nothing unless you are testing white blood count for elevation in bacterial infection. Have to tell by history and physical findings. Some of the worst sick I ever felt was viral. Hope you feel better!

So what's different in the lung sounds between bronchitis and pneumonia? I don't care what it is I have but I am so congested that it hurts to breathe. I hope I get some good meds.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #175: More Spring Cleaning

Well. Slept all of 1 hour tonight. Now my last shift, hopefully headed to the airport by daybreak, land in Tampa at 1:45, shuttle home, drop bags, shower, head back to downtown Tampa for pregame festivities, then game 1.

If the camera pans to a fan in a red Datsyuk jersey sleeping during the game, it'll probably be me. Hopefully Monster Energy and adrenaline gets me through.
I thought the word was that Tampa Bay was trying to keep Red Wings fans out, or at least having them check their wings gear at the door. there was something on the local talk radio out of Detroit that read off the letter that all of the Tampa Bay season ticket holders got to remind them to wear Tampa Bay colors to get into their special clubs they have at their arena.

Only in two (relatively small) club seating sections is opposing gear banned. They also mandated an in-state billing zip code to buy tickets direct. Obviously the secondary market still allows sales at a premium cost.

I like that MNS won the tiebreaker in the 1st Rd of Poser of the year and advanced to Rd 2. While I got to go home. :D

Howdy Lodge. Went to the doctor this morning. I'm fine. No flu. Just some bad cold. She didn't even give me drugs. Just to go buy Mucinex and Affrin to help with the congestion. She did give me a prescription for a ZPac but only to fill it next week before I travel if I still feel like crap. I actually do feel a bit better this morning, not as congested, though still pretty wiped. She said my lungs sound clear. My nasal passages are swollen, hench the Mucinex. No sinus infection. My throat is clear. I just need to hydrate and continue with Tylenol.

I chose to come home and work since I have my laptop at home with me. Plus, the hockey banquet is tonight and I need to prep for that. mookie - I think you're sitting at my table.

Mookie, I'd bring a surgical mask and lots of hand sanitizer - oh yeah, I wouldn't share any food or drink with typhoid Scarlet over there.

And now, in one of sports' great traditions, Freddy Meyer will place the green kleenex in Scarlet's pocket, symbolizing a new hacking champion. //clap! clap! clap!//

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #175: More Spring Cleaning

It's beer thirty here in 612 Land.

Found out today that my coworker at the school I'm at, accepted an offer for my same position next year. IF you guys recall it was only offered in district first to teachers who were tenured. Being my first year I was not tenured. Basically due to negotiated rights between teachers I couldn't apply for the job until it was offered to internal teachers.

Officially looking for school working for the upcoming school year. I was told to prepare for this (and I did) yet I'm still really disappointed. Funny how you prep yourself for something to happen and you're still saddened.

Work was DEAD today. Guessing most of our customer base saw the forecast for today and said "fuggit, not gonna work. Too nice out."

There were 30 minute stretches where I had ZERO orders to process. One on hand, yay easy day. On the other hand? TIME. DOES. NOT. MOVE.

Hitting up the Twin Cities Craft Beer Festival tomorrow night with some GPLers. I went to an autumn one (my first) last year, skipped the winter one, looking forward to this one. We even have VIP tickets. :)
