Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #174: Spring Cleaning

It's the second day of spring so of course it's snowing. Not really accumulating but it's kinda gross. I need to go shopping for a bridal shower gift. And something for my sister-in-law, whose birthday was March 6.
Not accumulating??!! we have 2 inches since I woke up.
By the way I have to thank you for being prepared for the obscene parking cost. Usually I don't have a credit card to pay for parking. Holy crap . Last yr it was half that cost to park and you paid as you left. THis time in the tunnel and they say fork it over. I wonder how many people thought they were going to an ATM up top to get the $ to pay as they left.

Morning, Lodge! Gameday! However, MN may be locked in by the time their game starts, which would be really nice.

ptthhhhhh. We are locked out unless we pull an impossible. On the positive side Mr les will be home weeks earlier than the last several years which would be OK :D (I think this is supposed be sacrilegious thinking!)

I know, right??? That drove me nuts when I parked at the Beanpot last month. I was thinking it was due to trying to get people out of the garage quicker - just have the gates open so people can drive out. But nooooo, you still had to have them scan your ticket so the line to get out was still the same. And I thought they jacked up the price due to the premium of garage spots because of the weather last month but I guess it's been like that all season.

Not only that but all the 'secret' on street parking spaces are all gone. Wondering about the Museum of Science.

Really wish they would go somewhere else besides the Gahden. The parking is ridiculous, sightlines in the bowl are pretty bad and the ushers are soooooo cranky. Fits if you act like a hockey fan. (We had a great one last night but other people were not so happy). Loved Worcester and ManchVegas is fun once you make it off the highway.

There's also that T lot across from Lechmere. A little longer walk but I think it's only, like $5. Did the team stay at the hotel? I don't think BU did, given you can pretty much see the campus from there, but was curious about the other teams.

The only plus from this snow is that it's covering all the dirty ice piles with a pretty covering of white.

Oh, and to continue the money theme - bbdl and anyone else planning to come to Boston for the FF - be prepared for ridiculous concession prices. It's really kind of disgusting.

this. For the weekend, for 2 people, just tix it will be 234$ in the bowl. Thank goodness they don't serve chocolate milk. It would be 10$

They went down Friday and stayed thru. I think most nonBoston teams do that.

Jebus. We paid $8 for parking ($4 if you left by 6pm) and that was in a lot that was only a couple blocks from the Xcel Energy Center.

last yr 25$, a few yrs ago 10$. Lots of construction and they wiped out all the external parking- both surface lots and street parking. There is literally no other choice unless you walk >1/2 mile. On a nice day that is OK but it is nasty out this weekend.

les, just saw one of your fans posted to mookie in our thread that Jasmine will be at The Fours pre-game. If you go, I'm sure you'll see him there. Please provide play by play. Tell me you weren't half expecting to see her with him on the jumbotron each time they went to her at breaks. :). By the way, she did a great job with that last night. Better than others they've had there. And I want to know where she got that skirt she was wearing last night.

The garage under the Garden was never $10. The cheapest I ever recall was $24. I do remember that for a time it was a dollar cheaper than the garage across the street with the bubble on top which I always thought was smart. Now they're both the same price. It was $37 last year. That's a 20% or so increase (math!!!). The Govt. Center garage is now $30. That used to be a great alternative, but if I'm going to pay $30, I'd rather pay the $42 and not have to walk outside.

Hopefully those coming in from out of town will be staying close by and walking/taking the T or cab and not have to worry about that.

There was a surface lot at 10$. I didn't realize Gubermint Ctr was that much. Wish the T/train was more convenient. Depending on what happens you might not get a train.

Looking at FB pics of tailgating for the Western bias. What a great tradition. Looks like it is a blast. Trying to think of how you could pull it off here. I think it would be unpossible.

Good morning to tLodge!

Between a total lack of cell service and really bad WiFi here at the hotel, plus my stint at the overnight *HT, I missed my usual early greeting. Oh well, I know you'll all get over it! ;)

Good luck to everyone still playing today.

Holy crap....I know Bahstahn is spendy but dam....

Just got ****ed out of a penalty shot. Two strides clear, got slashed, no SOG. I guess that's not a penalty shot.

I was on the far blue line and that happened on the other end of the ice, but it looked like he already had the shot off. I was a little drunk too, so who knows.:p

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #174: Spring Cleaning

Good Morning Lodge (in the west, barely).

HHT for me last night. In addition to the college men's and women's games, the Edina Junior Gold A team (U18 for most of the country) won again too. Bunch of kids Jr has played with/against over the years won State and are playing for a National title in St. Louis.

From what I saw, the replay showed otherwise. But in the end, it didn't matter.
