Got great news at work. Head Boss has officially ditched DHead Boss' "Staffing To Perfection" plan (you have the EXACT minimum staffing you need), and hired 3 more people. Goal? Be done with the shift I'm on by 6pm (and the later shift done by 6:30). If this works, and it should mean:

1. No more 50-hour weeks. Back to 40-42 hour weeks.
2. I will never see the main building (except for quarterly meetings, things like that), as I will never be done before 5:45 (when the last carrier picks up from off-site)
3. ALL THE JOY

Nice

Good evening Lodge.

I'm jealous of all the Lodgers that have or will be traveling to warm destinations. No warm vacations for the g family this year. Most of our vacation time in 2015 will be camping trips, Twins/Viking/Wild games, hanging out at the cabin and traveling around the state checking things out. *we had plans on taking a vacation but the mil f 'd that up. :p Besides, we spent some dough on new flooring for the house and I just purchased a new vehicle a few weeks ago.

For those of you keeping score from home, Mrs. g and I decided to get a family pet. We are scheduled to get a puppy late May.
what kind of dog are you getting??

I hate trivia questions about presidents. Lil loaded the trivia crack app on my phone and then promptly stopped playing. I play one person and win every time. The next person get my a55 handed to me every time. I hate president questions! (did I say that already?)

my trivia brain got eaten the more I got into college hockey... so I blame all of you... its all your fault... its all your fault... its all your fault

(and I'll go find the shame corner now :p )

I'm learning It's almost easier to call the dog we are getting a mutt but here goes............

We were looking for an athletic/hunting dog that didn't shed. Naturally this narrowed down our choices to nearly zero. We were not interested in the designer dogs (labradodle or golden doodle etc).

Did a ton of research and found a breed that matched exactly what we were looking for. The breed is called a Pudelpointer ( Google it). Again, not a designer dog. Smart, athletic, hunters and awesome family pets. Very exclusive breed and it's difficult to get one as there are very few breeders and every breeder is very selective as their main goal is to protect he breed.

Litter is due around the end of this month. We are #5 or the list.

Good luck! Sounds like an awesome choice for a dog (based on Wikipedia). Bring him/her out to the range in June when Jr is up there to shoot.

Took Jr to a class called Virtus last night at Totino-Grace. It is about protecting children and youth from predators - too bad the Catholic Church didn't start offering it 50 years ago. He is going to do his service requirement at an inner city Catholic school, Risen Christ, and it's required that he get that training. He has helped out with the school's fund raiser the last two years (and roped me into it last year).

Last hockey game of the season tonight for the squirts. In the championship of the Bronze division against another Edina team. Then to a bar/restaurant afterwards.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #174: Spring Cleaning

Starting last night the dog was obviously not feeling well...he threw up a couple times, but not stomach contents, it was just mucous, which was weird because he ate his dinner and some treats, so he had food in his gut. He was occasionally gagging, and licking his lips quite a bit. But his demeanor was normal, he was hyper, and playful and all in all, he didn't seem very uncomfortable by the whole thing. We kept a close eye on him all evening, and nothing really changed. Went to bed, and I stayed up/got up constantly to check on him. A couple times in the middle of the night he woke up gagging and it ended in a loud burp. After burping he would sleep ok for a while. Like he had gas in his belly. Several times we checked online, and there was nothing very alarming that made us think to bring him to the emergency vet, but one thing that seemed likely is that he was bloated, and really just needed to take a big ****. Early this morning my wife let him out, and we're pretty sure he did take a big **** when he was out there. I decided to stay home and work from home, partially because I got about 3 hours of sleep last night, and partially because I didn't want to leave him alone. Now he is laying on the bed passed out, snoring and seems very comfortable. I think he didn't sleep at all last night, and now feels much better after finally passing a big turd that must have been stuck up in there. I called the vet this morning, just to be sure, and they seemed to think, from what I told them that he'll be just fine, and said to bring him in if anything changes.

Too long of a night, and now I'm friggin tired.

So, that's what the dog owning belt buckle wearing folks are calling it these days. :p

Seriously, good luck with that. I can't wait to be dealing with puke and pizz and shiat with a new pup. Not!

You should be OK if (s)he doesn't see you in the S&SS. ;)

Howdy Lodge.

I'm having a Scarlet kind of Tuesday. My net progress at work today, -50. The few things I've taken steps forward on are stalled and 12 more problems hit my desk today.

Where's Uncle Ray been, I could use a margarita about now.

Good Morning Lodge.

Thanks. The neat thing about the breed is that they seem to have an "on" and "off" switch. Meaning, when they are outside it is game on and they are ready to roll. Once inside they are not hyper and seem to calm down and the term the breed is known for is that they "disappear" once in the house. I have spoken to quite a few owners and I have meet four dogs and to a person they say this holds true to their dog.

Not sure about the range. I will be socializing the dog and in the early stages of training which would be good to get the pup around people but I wonder if all the shooting would be good or bad for the dog????????

Edit. I had mentioned in my previous post that due to the fact that the breed is not well known it is easier to reference the dog as a mutt versus trying to explain it or not be characterized as a designer breed.

I just want to mention bb_dl sounds completely domesticated and at one point that was supposed to be impossible.
