Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #173: (Insert Title)

I ordered an iPad today. A couple years ago I had bought a Kindle Fire HD, but that thing is too limiting. Since already have an iPhone, figured this would be a better option for me than an Android tablet. I actually got the thing for a pretty good price, which makes me think that the seller may have obtained it after it fell off the back of a truck.

I like my Kindle. It does what I need it to do. Nothing more. Perfect.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #173: (Insert Title)

It must require math. ;) (Thanks for the thought.)
math  pfftth, pthhhh, spittttt, cough....

Yeah, by my experience on lakes and in the woods, the vast majority of folks who go to those places are hoping for peace and quiet and a chance to experience something different than what's back home. Maybe see some wildlife and just decompress and cleanse the soul - kind of a reset.

From time to time, the d-bags will show up with their boat stereo blaring or their boom box raging on the dock for all the lake to hear - something about this type of individual almost guarantees that they will also have horrible taste in music.

Again, do they have the "right?"

Sure.

They also have the right to not impose their "vacation" on everyone else around them.

This coming from someone who likes to listen to his music LOUD. Thing is, when in the backyard, I don't, coz I intuitively know (and care) that my neighbors might not enjoy their yard as much if they have to listen to my music - even though I have great taste and a huge library. ;)

It's like that guy that's in the parking lot of every concert ever blaring (so you can't hear your own music) Bob Marley - Legend... coz you know, that's chill party music. If you have to play the oh so obvious Marley, couldn't you at least own a few of his actual albums?

There... I feel better. :p
Me too. I thought maybe I was the lone ranger or something.

mookie is gonna buy you a cd of loon's yacking so you can play that on yer boom box and max the volume :D
lewis loves mookie she can't rep him because she has to spread.

And then there are jetskis that go around and around and around all the *ing day and evening. Wish I had an RPG for them.
Those things are satan. That is all.

Speaking of Satan- when we were away we had a very obnoxiously loud group sitting adjacent to us one night at dinner. I think they all needed hearing aids (serious, not kidding) wither that or it was loud captioning night. They were yelling at each other. Favorite line of the night "well, I finally found a book that had realistic pictures of Satan. You know, not those one of those fake ones" This lady was completely serious. I thought I was going to have to do the Heimlich on lil. We still can't figure out what a realistic pic of satan is based on. We have been giggling about it for a week now.

There are some apps I wanted to load onto mine, but couldn't get them because Amazon won't permit them. They're available for other Android devices, but because Amazon doesn't sell them, the Kindle won't support them. Oomph dat.

Attitude on music: If it's too loud, you're too old.

HOWEVER: when around others, I conform to normal societal standards.

Morning.

23 days till the wedding. I am ready to be done with this process!

Then we can start in on honeymoon planning. I've been tossing around the idea of Australia this winter.

Holy cow mookie you know her??? She decided we should all go out because her husband and kids are in the UP! That is too funny!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #173: (Insert Title)

Oh, jet skis. So much fun. I would definitely have a couple if I had a lake place. I could spend all day tooling around on one of those things.

If you want to try to turn Seawolf Fan red, by all means, be my guest. But it's going to take a bit of work.

I did my part, and that idiot deserves it. This Critical Thinker d-bag gets my vote for negging too.

I know her husband

We talked about this last yr via txt. I was golfing in a 2 day event with him and he was telling us over beers about his wife working at "your place" and doing World Cup promotion stuff. I brought up the balls you were sending all over and that's when we figured you two had some connection.

When I first met the husband we were at a conference in fla and had just met. He was telling stories of spending summers up there with grandparents and Mookie started laughing and said "I shoulda known you were a f'g yooper" :)
Friends ever since.

Heading up to the lake later today for the weekend.

Better not be any radios playing down by the water.

We're renting jet skis tomorrow though (during the day), so there's that... :p

Hypocrisy?

Nah... the sound of motors is synonymous (to me) with being on lakes (outside of the BWCA or Quetico) and I have no problem with (water) motor sports - as long as the arsehats keep their distance when we're fishing.

So for those who are married. Is a 3 bank acct system the best plan (ours, hers, mine) for financial sanity?

I feel like this should be worked out before the big day.
