Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #173: (Insert Title)

So I fly from San Diego to Denver today. And then drive to Colorado Springs. The weather sucks. And I have to drive it. By myself. Ugh.

Suck it up cupcake! :p

Grrrr.... just got back from the dealership for the second time this week. Monday I noticed the car was making an odd buzzing sound at speed. Get it up to about 55 and I started to look around for a moped. Was due for an oil change and took it in tuesday to have them do it and figure out what that noise was. They got to poking around and saw that the front break rotors were all worn down. They get it all changed out and I was able to pick it up yesterday right before work. And I still had that moped buzzing me. Took it back in this morning, and they said it was the front left bearing, which would have been my first thought with it anyways. Its fixed now, some 700 bucks later.

And to top it off, Mom took Miss Belle with her today, so I don't have any puppy cuteness today. Grumble! Grumble! Grumble!!

Why are you getting service done at a dealership? They charge so much more than other shops for the same services.

Exactly. The only reason to go to a dealer is if the car is in need of warranty work, or for a recall.

I don't honestly think Nic Dowd (or this Carey dude) actually have a chance of winning the Hobey Baker...but I'm sure going to keep trolling BC fans.

Yeah...if I have to go there anyway I'll get an oil change while I'm there, but it's a waste to hit the dealer for minor stuff.

Is bailing on dinner with a friend made more acceptable or less acceptable by acknowledging that it is a b**** move?

Was planning on dinner with a friend tomorrow night, but boyfriend got Wings tickets again. Hockey with nask >>>> dinner with friend

Tickets are for an exclusive/specific night. Dinners can be rescheduled.

I'd understand if I was the friend, but realize that some would choose to get upset over something like this.

Hockey tickets trump dinner with friend unless extraordinary circumstances.A friend would understand, esespecially if stated as "new boyfriend got these awesome tickets, can we reschedule?"

Or, in the spirit of tLodge, tell nask "thanks for the tickets" and take the friend to the game! :D

Good evening Lodge.

Little g was a featured speaker tonight at the Tech College. He informed the audience about his story and then explained the challenges he deals with and he highlighted his successes. He did a great job. Quite a few tears in the audience.

Scarlet: that drive always sucks. Usually due to accident along the way, blocking a lane (or worse, two lanes and forcing a detour), but weather is a close #2. I feel for you.

Snowmageddon here, roads were pure crap within 20 minutes of snowfall/icefall. Slid quite a bit on the way home, didn't even bother with the highways (I knew better). The upside was that business was slower; thinking that our customer base didn't bother trying to work today, expecting this storm to happen.
