S'upp y'all
Good morning Lodge. Not sure if yesterday's commuting mess was because it was a Tuesday but today was freakishly easy. Maybe everyone decided to stay home. I'll take it.
A few things I was pondering on my commute in for you all to weigh in on:
1. Is it President's Day, Presidents' Day or Presidents Day? I've seen it in ads all three ways.
2. When you type out Happy Birthday to someone, is it necessary to upper case the B?
3. Do any of you buy organic fruit? When I was food shopping Saturday morning I grabbed bananas that were green rather than yellow as I knew I wouldn't be eating them till mid week and I didn't want them to rot. When I was at the register I saw they rang in higher than normal and then noticed that the bag they were in said organic. I wasn't in the mood to go back and swap them out, how different could they be? It's Wednesday and they're still green. Is that normal?
And congrats to Gurt jr! Were you able to record it??? If so, put it on YouTube and share the link so we can all see!!
Presidents Day question has no hard and fast grammar rule. Words ending in s that show singular possession can use: 's or ses or s'.
ses would sound funny in speech so I'd guess why that's never chosen. Other two ways are fine.
But it's now plural possessive as it recognizes all presidents so I think s' is correct. There is no math, grammar though...
Congrats!!**** it.
