Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #173: (Insert Title)

I jsut spent three hours trying to reconcile some numbers. I had done a presentation last week that was a proposal for our office visits for 2015 and 2016. I had to redo them and in redoing them, I added a few new offices. The old number plus the numbers from the few new offices didn't add up to match the total number I had - I know, it's confusing, probably not explaining properly. Suffice to say I went back over it line by line and made the amount I was off get smaller and smaller until I found that last batch of 138 employees that was the discrepancy. Success!! Math, man.

I spent 20 min. in a 2 person line waiting for a little old lady to figure out how to ring people up.

She admits to being tech challenged but they have her on the new PC register. Brilliant!

She charged me 4.05 cause the actual price of 4.07 was too confusing and then still gave me only .75 in change. When I told her, the person behind me in line says to her friend "he's confusing her".

My Thursday has been a Scarlet Tuesday so far. No need to bore you all with mundane details but it sucks the first time we have to coordinate with a new office. By the way, my firm now has an office in Rochester, MN. yipee

Do you guys have a lot work with the condiment factory down there?

Some, but not a lot. I did their Sports Med department recently. A lot of $ going to be spent there on buildings in the next several years. We want a piece.

The new sports med department in Minneapolis or is there also one down in Rochester?

Is there a Minnesota High School hockey thread? I didn't see one for this season...Anyway, there was a great article in City Pages:
Game Misconduct: The Assault on the State of Hockey by Cory Zurowski
It is a wonderful article talking about the false pressures on kids and choices like USHL, Major Juniors, skipping part of high school, traveling farther and farther at younger ages to participate in the best tournaments.
I think it's great, touching on everything, and really pointing out how absurd it all is. If you're good enough and continue to have fun and love the game, you'll get noticed and get somewhere but the pipe dream of the NHL is so small that sports for kids should be about playing because you love it and having fun while you do it. If you're good enough, the rest will happen with hard work.

Wow. That was great (and sad).

Look forward to reading the rest of the articles.

Great article. For you Minnesota folks - there was a kid that quit UM and came here (Everett) to play a few years ago - can't remember his name. Anybody know who he is and what happened to him?

Got our flight booked for Boston for the F4. Getting in late on Wednesday and leaving late afternoon Sunday. I think some cocktails with Scarlet and mookie are in order!
